question re Thunderbird email

I just sent an email to 3 cc addresses. Got a message back to say that one failed because there is no such address. Does that mean the other two were delivered, or not?

I think the problem was on the recipients end. Sometimes they change their email or have a problem with their server or their computer. If none of them went through you would have gotten 3 returned notices. If it is a family member or a close friend, give them a call to be sure if it happens again.

Re: the failed message itself, did you add the address by hand (and make a small typing error)? Or did you add it from the address book where it was also somehow misspelled? (Best to eliminate possible accidental sender errors to narrow down just why the one was returned.) Have you used that address in the past with success?

Thank you, everyone. Raven, you hit the nail on the head...I wasn't using my regular AOL password. DUH. :) It works perfectly! Thank you, daylilydazed, for the heads up about checking the web AOL spam folder from time to time. This is such a great group of people. You are willing to share your time and talents and it is greatly appreciated. One more question. If I wanted to add my husband's AOL screen name so he can use Thunderbird, too, do I just go through the same steps I went through to set up the account? The answer to my second question is this... Earthlink has been trying to phase out a particular server for years now. You need to access your server settings via account settings and change the server and port assignments. Problem laid to rest... ver 2.0 installed

Is Tbird 3 beta, or is it okay to get it? I'm still using 2.0.0.4, and something happened a couple days ago that removed all the separators, ie New, Last Week, Old. Now all the mail is there with no separators, also changed it to Descending order. Time to change? Sue

Thanks zep516 for the link. That is the information that I needed. Ravencajun.. I do know about the bbc but when I typed in Westcoasters and included myself I saw all the addy's when the email came to me and I really prefer not to send other addy's on to everyone on the list. This happened to be to an organization and I only know one of the people personally. The address for the one that didn't go was given to me and now I know it was given to me incorrectly. An O instead of an A in the name.

I wanted to know for sure if the other two were sent, and now I know they were.
