Question about Thunderbird

I am visiting relations out of state, is there a way I can retrieve my mail from my thunderbird account? I have never figured that out. Thanks

Your mail in Mozilla Thunderbird, Outlook, Windows Mail, Outlook Express, Eudora or whichever email program you prefer is, unquestionably, great Ã¯Â¿Â½ unless, of course, you are not at the computer holding your mail but still want or need to access it. What options do you have for retrieving your messages at multiple different locations and computers?

Hey zep...I did it, I did it! I really did it! :) I can send and receive from each account. Each AOL screen name has to have its own account set up with proper port #s, matching user names, etc. raven, you're right...I just had to keep digging around. I found a Mozilla forum note from 2006 where someone had done a good job of explaining. Thank you again for pushing me on. Pam

It seems that the mail you had in Thunderbird is gone so at this point I would open your address book in Thunderbird and use the tools > option choice to export your address book. I would then use the Revo Uninstaller (free if you don't have it) at it's highest setting and unintall Thunderbird then download the newest version and install it and set up your account again. You could then import your address book from the file you saved. If you go to att.net and check your mail there you may find that much of it is still there. It depends on your settings in Thunderbird.

kudzu9 Thanks, nice web site, and free, or do I get a bill later :>? I got detailed help from the mozillazine web, and among the recommendations was to "compact folder", which I hadn't done in a few weeks...and my email is active. I did a compact and bingo, speed very fast, well given I have the low-end DSL. The problem seemed to be more background/overhead stuff, as the progress dialog showed long times for "connecting" and "sending log on information". It also turns out the latest Thunderbird is 2.0.0.21, which is what I had updated to. I'll keep a copy of the speedeasy test.

Is Tbird 3 beta, or is it okay to get it? I'm still using 2.0.0.4, and something happened a couple days ago that removed all the separators, ie New, Last Week, Old. Now all the mail is there with no separators, also changed it to Descending order. Time to change? Sue

Yeah it looks like a lot of work and remembering. I'm not much on E-Mail but there might be away to forward E-Mail from thunderbird to say a Web-Based mail such as G-Mail or Yahoo. It's probably just as confusing LOL!!!!!

I don't get it? It says you don't have to register? You just enter your e-mail addie and password, and then you get the mail? I would try it but I don't have a password for Thunderbird.
