Zep, I couldn't save anything, I had to do a recovery. Raven, you have lost me. When I got this PC with Windows 7, you guys helped me get my e-mail addies from my former Outlook programs. I can do a search and get those instructions again, I just thought since Thunderbird comes from the net that my former account might be out there in cyber space somewhere. I had no idea how to get to it, so I just re-downloaded and installed it again. I just didn't know if there was actually a way to connect to it again. I know my idea of what it seems may be kind of crazy, sorry!

The answer to my second question is this... Earthlink has been trying to phase out a particular server for years now. You need to access your server settings via account settings and change the server and port assignments. Problem laid to rest... ver 2.0 installed

Speaking of draft, I lost my input here while typing.. using Firefox. Now I want a draft but think Firefox doesn't save such. In any case, my frequent incremental drafts are on my computer, not the server. The Copies and Folders is checked to save on my email account locally. If I check "Other" I get the same choice... the field is already populated with my account name, and while I can direct other than "draft" as the destination, it seems it wouldn't prevent the storing of many unwanted incremental drafts. I never saw this on Windows 7, this machine was updated to Windows 10, another set of problems, a couple of weeks ago... about the time the incremental drafts date back to.
