Our new aquatic center opened yesterday. Tomorrow they are having lap swimming from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. I plan to spend those two hours there and I hope they will let us adults try out the water slides. A week from tomorrow the water aerobic classes start.

I am going to grill some chicken on the open pit BBQ over red oak coals, make cole slaw and cauliflower "potato" salad.
DH canceled his golf game so he will be doing some outside house maintaintenance.

Hope to stay home all day.

Going to buy groceries for my mom and then Twinkie and I will go visit her awhile. Other than that, don't plan anything special.

Cookout here. Had a bad week with complications from new BP medications - severe dehydration/barely functioned, and RA flared up. Had to just flat out stop taking them. Took 3 days to get back to normal. Feel great today.

So, while DH takes care of decks, grill and patio, I'll make potato salad, cole slaw, shuck corn and get burgers and hot dogs ready to grill.

Going to be real simple...all I can handle.

My dialysis "off" day. Went out for coffee early, plan a BBQ for me and hubby later. Pickles, chips and dup, salads, corn on the cob, hamburgers and hot dogs.
Made home-made tutti fruitti ice cream for his hubs, that's his favorite. Hope the grill works okay. I left it out all winter and it got some rust. If it's bad I'll broil indoors. It's a beautiful day out-sunny and 80 already, goona be 84. My idea of a great day to begin summer. And lets not forget all our departed military. My Dad included.

I'm babysitting my 4-month-old GS. DD and SIL took his 8-year old brother to hear the Prez speak at Abe Lincoln Nat'l Cemetery. The child is obsessed with all things presidential!

I can't think of a better way to spend my day!

We were up at the crack of dawn, it was already oppressively hot. Went to WM to get some stuff for my aunt. Then we hit a couple of garden centers and the hardware store. Got some fantastic, mature tomato plants that are loaded with (green) tomatoes--for $3 each!

Came home, planted about 20 vegetable plants, spread 9 bags of mulch--that's about all I have on my agenda. Need to hop into the shower, and maybe will do some sewing.

We've got some grilled chicken for lunch that a lovely neighbor gave us last evening, and guess dinner will be some frozen leftovers we have from eating at Carrabas the other night, once we return to the house in the suburbs.

Oh, and then, 8PM--we're going to watch the FLYERS WIN!!!

I'm going to make a vegetable dinner for my Son & his family. It will be different for them.

dh is golfing so it's pretty nmuch same ole same ole for me..made a pill run to target, walked the store checking for end caps sales, and found their cheapy tee shirt sheets on sale... they only had red or white left in king so opted for red...

just ate leftovers for lunch..don't have a clue what we're doing for dinner...maybe a nice tuna salad? it's so hot and humid..(mi style, lol)

I am just about ready to leave for a cook out at Cheryl and Kevin's. I am taking Jello Cake, brownies, cucumber salad, cottage cheese and iced tea. It should be a good one!

I am back from the aquatic center. It was super fantastic. Not crowded because it was just for lap swimming and they had the zero depth pool open for the little ones under 6 years. They have kick boards that we can use. Lap swimming will be 7 days a week. The Director of Park & Rec was there asking for input. I suggested having the big slides open before the general public comes in at 1 p.m. She is going to see if they can't be turned on at 12:45 so us grown ups can use them for 15 minutes. I can't wait to go back tomorrow.

Wish I was hanging out with you Glenda. That's my kind of menu. Maybe put a scoop of Blue Bell on that cobbler. :0)
We had our fun yesterday. I had breakfast with BIL and SIL this morning. Jammer has been working on the garden. Now I'm relaxing and reading while he sleeps.

DS and DIL are coming over,he's gonna barbq ribs and chicken,bringing corn on the cob and a german chocolate cake.We're supplying the potato salad,tossed sald,watermelon,drinks,and mac salad.It was a last minute thing as i hadn't planned on doing anything,then he called yesterday and suggested this.He's a great cook,didn't get it from me,LOL,LOL,and he makes all sorts of foods from a lot of different countries.He learned from his friends parents,he's also a great fisherman.

I bought a bunch of plants yesterday,that i'll plant later after the sun moves from the area i need to work in.I get sunburned real easy since i had chemo,didn't know that til it happened a couple weeks ago,and on an overcast day at that.

Got home around midnight last night from our two week cruise and had hoped to do laundry and process photos all day today. It's now nearly 6pm and I have yet to do either. I have however watched two week's worth of American Idol, Two and a Half Men, Modern Family, Big Bang Theory, Rules of Engagement, Sunday Morning, The Good Wife and Dancing with the Stars. Priorities ya know. :-)

Just finished a plate full of Baby Back Ribs and potato salad. Some of the best of both that I've made in a long, long time. Haven't had either in a long time too so it tasted that much better. Decided to skip the salad, knowing I'd chow more on meat & taters. Even decided to skip the toast! These days, simple tasks like this are now a far bigger challenge so it felt like a nice accomplishment too for some personal satisfaction.

Was going to get together with a friend but not surprisingly she had to work. She's the "go to" person to fill in for people who don't show up. I told her I'd be amazed someone isn't sick or something this weekend, no matter how reliable they usually are. But I won't say I told her so.

Just going to go put the leftover ribs in the frig and watch The Big Bang Theory.

Now, I realize the potato salad was good, but... my cat turned down the rib scraps and bones in favor of licking up the potato salad! *That* is something I've never seen. She's normally quite the carnivore. Unless she didn't like the seasoning or sauce. Now my little guy, when he was alive, baby backs were a favorite of his. More than once he hopped on the counter or helped himself to the garbage and hid the bones for later enjoyment. There's probably still a bone or two tucked away around here!

Was just lamenting that I had no ice cream for dessert... but it just hit me I have a key lime pie in the freezer! Storms don't move in until tomorrow. This is quite a good day! (burp) Excuse me. :)

Friend's DH asked if I would make him one just like that but with blackberries, next time :o)

I worked. Got to work tomorrow. Hopefully an 8 hour day tomorrow. Then I'm off for about 3 weeks!!!
