Oh my gosh, just thinking about packing and moving gives me flashbacks. We moved 3 1/2 years ago for the first time in 20 years. I thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown. I didn't know HOW to pack. We had so much stuff crammed in that little house. We hired movers and when I called, they asked the size of our house and that's how they determine how many men to send. This kid shows up, walks in and walks right out the back door and calls and says "We're going to need more help." LOLOL

Did I mention I hate packing and moving? How about if I fix you something to eat? Will that work?

How far as you moving? I'll never forget our last day in that house - I walked out back where DH and my stepdad had built me a nice covered deck and I had such a pretty backyard and I stood there bawling. It didn't bother me at all to leave the house but I felt like I was leaving a part of my soul in that backyard.

Well, I don' mind helpin', ya understand, it's just that if I happen to run across any Fireking jadite dishes they might just get put in the wrong box......ya know, like one addressed to a certain KTer in ArkanSAW??? LOL

Honestly the moving day might be the easiest! A bunch of the men and boys from our church get together and with many hands (and strong backs) it makes a quick job. I am so thankful for them.

I'll help in the garage; that way nothing of value will "accidently" get tossed out.

I'll be there to keep an eye on your dh and Ron to make sure they don't sneak any of that so called " cool " stuff, otherwise known as "men stuff", into boxes to move to your new home. I'm sorry I won't be much help packing, but watching those guys is a full time job in itself.

Why don't I just come up with my huge role of bubblewrap, bought back when I was selling on ebay that's just been sitting in the basement taking up space.

We can use it to wrap up some breakables.

We won't just sit around and pop bubbles ... nosiree!

I will be more than happy to come help you pack...as long as I don't have to pack the garage. I hate doing that one! Hey...I can bring my guys from work to help you move. They move us (three times) in about an hour to an hour and a half. Good luck...and yes, if he thinks it's cool, he has to pitch it. However, if YOU think something's cool...you better keep it. You will kick yourself later if you don't. Believe me.

Now, everyone not wanting to make such a long trip, can stop here, and help me.

Judy, we have so many boxes packed... and already in OKC. We haven't even looked for a house yet. The trip for today got canceled, and we will try on Thursday.

Moved 4 times furing the first 27 years of my life.
Move 6 times in 8 years of marriage. And we are NOT military!

I can pack great- and clean out pretty good. BUT neither Eric nor I have good backs. This last move about killed his back and has cost us plenty in medical bills.

Wish I could help...but I'm still moving stuff out of my old house.

30 years??? Gasp! We've only been here 20 and I would rather have all of my teeth extracted (without Novocaine) than to have to pack it all up and move. I admire your tenacity Judy!

Good Morning! I slept like a baby last night. I was already out in the garden, but it is really cold today. I planted the pole beans and that is the last of the gardening for this year/life! I will not have a garden at the new house. It is a association. Now we are looking forward to retirement, this yard is a full-time job.

OK, We are back to packing again. We must conquer some more of this today. We only have 23 days, and some of those are busy with something else.

OJ, you sound like a real hazzard in the garage. I can just see Tom, Ron and you out there building up the value of each and every piece of junk. I mean why is there value in a worn off screwdriver? As long as Linda is in charge out there, I'm sure it will get done RIGHT! OJ, if you pack those boxes with things of value in your area -- You be sure to take them along when you go home! LOL

Summer, It has been 39 years -- YIKES! I must be old!!!!
We fell in love with this little patio home about 2 years ago, and in that time I think the desire for the new house has grown enough to make us glad to move.

The new house has square footage that is equal to just the main floor of this house. The house we are in is a story and a half with a breezway(dining room) and attached garage and full basement. The space that we will no longer have is actually the extra space around here. That space collects un-needed stuff.

OK, back to packing!

I am here and I am ready to to help in any way I can. We went through this just last year so I'm a pro! It's a snap. I even brought some extra boxes and paper. You can never have too many boxes for a move as big as this one... But first...

WHO HAS THE FIRST AID KIT?

Don't worry...I'll clean up the mess as soon as I find a band-aid...my finger is bleeding like a stuck pig! Who knew a box of antique glasses could be that heavy? Waterford? sorry...

Judy, I've moved into a larger home...already occupied. Between the two of us, we have a lot of "extra" furniture and stuff. Been giving away to kids and selling that which we don't need/want. Like the decision of which dining room set to keep, etc.

But...now I have a garden!

Oops, 30 years was a typo Judy, I really did mean 39. That's a loooong time to collect a lot of "stuff". I'd be doing some major tossing too.

McC and I talk about moving/relocating a lot. This acre and a quarter is just about to see us in our grave come growing season. Gonna have to let go one of these days. A small patio home is sounding better all of the time. :)
