Ooooo, I really like the whole collection! I've read positive reviews about Murray Feiss lighting (and learned the cute nickname a member from the building a home forum calls it "Furry Mice" :) I think that all of these will coordinate nicely, whether you do the one all steel and the rest glass, or just do all glass. I don't think it will be too matchy - it will look very well planned, if you ask me! These would look great with your vision of a traditional kitchen and I love the sound of the rest of your choices.

okay, so you'd have in the pendant over the sink 1-100 watt, 6-60watt candle over the table, 3-60watt on the ceiling. What are the dimensions of your kitchen? Is it all closed in, or open to other spaces and what is your natural light? Do you plan on undercab lights??

The kitchen is 12' x 19'6" and is open to the family room which is about 14'x 18'8". We have 2 recessed lights over the fireplace in the family room, as well as 3 various lamps and 2 windows. There is a bay window in the kitchen and patio doors, as well as a window over the sink, so during the day we get plenty (sometimes too much) light. At night it's a different story. It can be pretty dim sometimes. We only have 200 watts above the table right now, and the big old ugly flourescent light box (4) 40 watt tubes, in the center of the room, and a flush mount fixture over the sink (2) 40 watt bulbs. So over the table we would be gaining 160 watts with the new fixture, 20 watts with where the light box currently is (although I don't know how a flush mount with 180 watts compares to flourescent tubes that are 160 watts) and also gaining 20 watts over the sink. I don't think we are going to do under cabinet lighting, because our budget is really dwindling. Would UC lighting be very helpful? If so, I may reconsider. We just don't want to keep adding extras we won't recoup when we move in a couple of years. BTW, if anyone has an opinion on the brushed steel vs dark bronze (which looks almost black IRL), I'd love to hear it. (SS appliances with some black on them, ss sink, brushed nickel faucet, probably satin nickel cab hardware, and 2 interior doors with antique pewter levers).
I could always look at some other fixtures. I've seen some that I didn't like quite as well, but could get 500 watts over the table and 300 watts in the center of the room. Would this be a better option? Sorry, I'm all over the place on this. I hate pressure to decide quickly!

BTW, if you look at the pictures, can anyone tell me what 'style' this collection appears to be? Although I'd love to, we don't live in a beach house or an old farmhouse, just a regular 8 yr old traditional style house in the burbs. I love this collection, but does it 'go' with my style of house? It feels a little retro to me (which I like)-is it? and does it even matter? It is twice the cost of the other collection (Garrett) that I'm considering. I'll link a pic of the other collection.

IMO, I'd prefer the brushed steel finish with the other elements you've described. I also like the Parker Place collection better (but that's completely subjective!!)

In my current kitchen (10x17) as a real-life test, I just put on the overhead light with 120watts alone and this provides very little illumination (I usually use the 6 cans for my light). I think with 300watts, you should be fine. I do worry about your task lighting because when I have just this light on, the counters are too dark for my liking (but also a big difference in wattage). I also understand the need to stay within your budget !!

I actually haven't placed my order yet (I was able to get the manager to extend the sale 1 more day for me--told ya I was indecisive :) Anyway, I am going to go with the Parker Place collection. Even though it's twice the money and puts out less light than the Garrett collection. Just crossing my fingers that it works out okay. I still haven't decided on the pendant, though. I really like the metal one the best, but I know it won't allow as much light to come through as the glass version. Oh, well, I have a few more hours to agonize. I hate purchasing things that aren't returnable! :)
