I am refrying pinto beans right now and trying to decide what to make to go with them.

In the 80's here too & they say by the weekend it will get to the high 80's. This is not what I want to hear as I hate the heat. Dinner tonight for hubby was leftover manicotti which he says is so much better the 2nd time around. For me I had a cube steak & french fries.

Patti, your dinner sounds so good. the manicotti sounds good to me, too. Then again, I love pasta. I haven't even thought about dinner. Played golf today. It was the first day of a two day partner tournament. I had a miserable time....I think I have a bladder infection. The worst place to be under those conditions is the golf course. I had a grilled cheese sandwich afterwards and I'm just not that hungry. Not to mention, I feel much better when I'm sitting down. That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it. LOL I have a Dr.'s appointment tomorrow. Got to get fixed up before the second day of tournament which is Thursday.

Went downtown with a friend today, had lunch at a noodles restaurant. I had pasta with an Alfredo sauce with pine nuts and roasted garlic. Really good baguette with oil. Walked around and browsed some of the shops then went to Coolata Gelato for our dessert. Didn't buy a thing but our food, although we parked right behind Mast General store and walked through it coming and going. Did a lot of looking.

Take out hotdogs from a little neighborhood place for supper. Weather was gorgeous today!

I have some round steak with diced tomato and onion and mushrooms cooking in the oven and I cut some small fresh yellow squash in half long way and laid on top of it all. I will cook some rice to go with it.

Tonight was the first time we've gone to our Amish people's house this year. I am stuffed as I leave my common sense at home when I go.

Baked chicken, dressing, mashed potatoes/gravy, salad, creamed peas, homemade noodles, homemade bread. Choice of coconut cream pie (as soon as I hear they have that, I quit listening to other choices), pecan pie, raspberry sauce on top of angel food cake........don't remember what else.

It was a long day at work & I still have some work to do from hom. I'm just having a frozen entree tonight since DH is away. I may have a small salad & fruit & yogurt with it.

Walnutcreek, I'd just like the beans smeared on a tortilla with grated cheese on top and rolled up. Maybe a salad, or maybe just an extra wrap :-)

Mary, most pasta dishes really do taste better the second day. I think a lot of things do. Guess the flavors have more time to blend. I grew up on cubed steak with gravy poured over broken up white bread. I still love that meal.

OMG, Georgysmom. You must've been miserable, not to mention in some pain. Sure hope you get better by Thursday. I've never had a bladder infection, but I hear they're not fun at all! Take care!

Jude, that sounds like so much fun. I miss those days when Harry and I would do stuff like that.

Raven, you're so creative. I know I've probably said that before but your meals always so so good and unusual. I would never have thought about putting the yellow squash on top, but I just know it's gonna be terrific!

Shirley, nothing like a good home cooked dinner--and I'm with you--coconut cream pie is my very favorite.
