Yes we got a half inch of snow over night and had a few flurries awhile ago, but nothing stuck too much. Very chilly out though today. Went grocery shopping anyway in the cold. Lunch was a kids meal from Steak and Shake, grilled cheese, fries, and fruit punch. I only ate half the sandwich, half the fries and gave the punch to Alyssa. I had water. My supper was skinless smoked sausage, peas, yellow cake with cherry pie filling on top.

I had a busy day today.

Very very windy and temps are dropping all day. Down to 29 tonight.

So Diplomat Deli for cup of chili and grilled cheese on rye.

We got about an inch of snow overnight. Anywhere the sun hit, it melted but there is still some on the north side of buildings, etc.

I wrapped and froze most of the sausage that I got at Whole Foods yesterday. Kept out and cooked some hot and some sweet Italian sausage this afternoon with the last of the home canned spaghetti sauce from last year. Will have it for supper on Thursday, or freeze for later use. Tomorrow we are going out with the "old folks" for lunch so won't need a big meal at home.

For tonight I have a couple Kiev stuffed chicken breasts in the oven along with two sweet potatoes. A mixed veggie and a green salad with nuts and grapes will complete the meal. And then there is that cranberry apple crisp still waiting to be eaten.

We got heavy frost overnight and snow. I woke up with the neighbours scraping their car windows at 4:30 am. We sleep with the window open, so I hear everything.

We had to scrape and clear the snow too, when we left.

I made the last of the apples into applesauce. Courtlands make great pies and applesauce. We finished the Sesame chicken and rice from yesterday, and the pork chops and rice from Sat. Broccoli and carrots as a veg. We both love leftovers.

We had enough snow to dust the garden which is still green with a lot of flowers still blooming. The snow is beautiful on the leaves of my flaming red Japanese maple.

Dinner is "Freezer Surprise". I'm defrosting some UFO's (unidentified frozen objects). I'll check in later and let you know what we had lol.

LOL Seagrass! That happens when my stupid masking tape falls off what I labelled. Mystery dinner for sure.

He will have a steak, I'll have the rest of the chicken on a salad.

I've been painting my bathroom ALL day. Still not done.
I painted the main walls gold, the small wall behind the tub teal, and painting the ceiling trim a deep purple. All that taping!!! I have the ceiling trim taped off now, and will go paint that in a minute. Then....I have to put the room back together.
It's a Moroccan theme. I have a deep purple shower curtain with beaded valance that I wanted to incorporate. It's gonna look AWESOME!

We only had flurries but the temp went down all day. this morning it was 39 & now it is 28. They say in the teens by morning.

Working on the fall cleaning little by little.

Patti, if you need to take a nap take it. You need all your strength. Don't fight taking it easy. Whatever you need to do will be there another day.

Dinner was BLT. I can't believe how expensive bacon is.

Flannel sheets went on yesterday, glad they are with this weather. We always have the window opened at least 2-3" at night.

This past weekend, I made bean soup with a baked ham bone that was in the freezer(it had a lot of meat on it).

So, that's what we had for dinner.

Gee, I forgot how good real homemade bean soup was.

Sunny CA day. It was supposed to rain and I did see one drop on my windshield, woohoo! We really need rain, but looks like nothing in the forecast for the next 7+.

Still early here and not sure what to cook for dinner, although I'm craving a green salad with veggies and balsamic. DH hates salad, so maybe some type of sandwich for him.

I didn't think I was going to get to go to the monthly Amish turkey dinner tonight due to the snow. But my sister's son said he'd 'hold on to me' so I went.

Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, homemade noodles, dressing, potato salad, squash, mixed creamed vegetables, homemade bread and homemade strawberry jelly. Desserts were pecan pie, pumpkin pie, angelfood cake with berry sauce and chocolate on it. I hope my bed holds me up tonight.

Monica, you are so right about homemade bean soup. It's delicious. Sometimes I make big fluffy dumplings and pour the bean soup over the top. Yum!

Gazania, I love chicken Kiev. I haven't made it in years. I had butter fish tonight. Never had it before but it was delicious. Last night was special night for lobster tails. That, too was delicious. Don't know where we're headed for tomorrow night.

I've been suffering with a pinched nerve (or something) so Robert's been on his own yesterday and tonight. He made us pancakes and fruit, my request.

I'll be visiting our most excellent chiro tomorrow who will take x-rays before we decide what needs to be done. I have been one miserable puppy.

We ate out. It was breaded and pan fried with a very light sauce on top. Delish.

Well, the UFO's turned out to be 2 different pasta entrees. Both reheated nicely in a casserole in the oven. Scrapped together a salad and some garlic bread.

Overall, I would really have loved to tag along with Shirley to her Amish turkey dinner!!
