What's for dinner Tuesday?

I had Panera potato soup. It tasted a little spicy and the potatoes could've been cooked a little longer, but it filled me up! What are you having on this cold evening?

Norm is going to have pancakes, he will not want anything else, maybe a hot tea. I will have a ham sandwich on one of the yeast rolls I made today and some cranberry sauce. Probably hot tea to drink. Still winter here :)

Chicken tempura. Patti, I am wondering if you are more sensitive to spices now? I don't even care for pepper, so I rarely like any prepared foods. I do, however, like Panera's cheese and broccoli soup.

It looks like it's going straight across GA and then head north, but maybe that's changed. No doctor today, just finished up business from Harry's death. That chicken sounds good, Raven. I need to put mushrooms on my grocery list. I bought a 2-1/2 qt. crockpot when they were on sale at Wal-Mart before T-giving. I could use it since my other is way too big.

I agree. You need to go back to the drawing board. Not very professional on their part. So sorry that happened for you. I've been tired today. I don't know why. Haven't really done very much. We had a little snag in our renovation project and that has caused me to lose lots of sleep but we're back on track. Met with the contractor this morning, did a little cleaning, then met with a gal from the fabric store to chose fabrics for window treatment, chair covering and dust ruffle. Had to go out to order carpeting for our closet so I picked up Chinese while I was out. Hot and Sour soup, chicken chow mein and some kind of beef is what's for dinner tonight. Hit a new place so I have no idea if it's any good and "frankly my dear, I don't give a d...." LOL

Thanks, all. Sure wish I felt as good as they say I'm doing! But I'm getting stronger--couldn't have made that chicken salad two weeks ago, much less the second trip to the store. Dr. told me I wouldn't wake up one morning and suddenly be able to eat. Rather, it wil happen gradually. I'm so darned impatient. Sue, I'm not a big fan of blue cheese either. I love a good homemade BC salad dressing, though. I haven't had Spam or years. Back in the '70's when they had the meat boycott and people gave up meat for a week, we had Spam one night. Pam, that sounds so good I'm drooling. You always have the best meal ideas!! Jean, that sounds good. Around here they sell like one each red, yellow and green pepper together and call it "stop light peppers". Mary, hopefully that will be the last mowing for this year. I need a haircut but she's so far away I've been putting it off. Plus, Iost more than a little bit at the nape of my neck and up in the back so I'm trying to let the layers grow out. I'm at the last one so I guess I'll just keep whacking at it myself for a while. Jasdip, I'd love your soup--wish we were closer 'cause I'd come begging at your door :-) And I'm so ready for leftover turkey. (with lots of gravy) Glenda, great minds think alike. I picked up a can of pumpkin for bread this morning. I don't like our GC either. I will say one thing for GC. They have one heck of a good breakfast. I love those warm cinnamon rolls! Shirley, it sure pays to keep some quick things in the pantry for days like you had today. Thanks for the beet reminder. I just love them and have a jar of pickled beets that I keep thinking might taste good. Georgysmom, it sounds like you are having a great time on vacation. I would've had the fried oysters (again), too. It's something I don't do at home. Keep on enjoying!! Raven, do you feel okay? Hope you found something you liked for dinner.

We're both off work the rest of the week. This morning, we did some shopping & I worked on the living room Christmas tree this afternoon & evening. We've settled in for the night to watch Sleepy Hollow (it's filmed near us!). For dinner, we had a salad (spinach, pears, Trader Joe's cranberry goat cheese, and blood orange vinaigrette) with French onion soup. We're having crazy weather. Sunday & Monday were clear but in the 40's. Today was in the low 70's & rainy. Tomorrow will be the same. Thursday is supposed to be back in the the 40's again.

Stouffer's creamed chipped beef over a potato, plus had some peas. Enough left over for lunch tomorrow.

Thermometer hitting right at zero right now in my part of OH. Warm up for weekend. Maybe I can get out then.

Our landlords invited us to their home for a visit and some food. They are Serbian and that community (Serbian, Bosnian etc) hold their Christmas today.

We had some finger food and sweets and red wine. We're full. Everything from lamb, to baklava.

Sue, both your dinner and Norm's sound delicious. Hope you are staying warm. It seems the worst of the weather is over and the nation will get back to half-way decent temperatures.

Pam, yes I can taste one speck of pepper in a dish. Normally, I love pepper. I can't remember whether it was the chemo or radiation that caused it, but I do know my taste buds are whacky now. Sure hope they go back to normal soon. Panera's broccoli/cheese is my fav!

Raven, what can I say but "YUM". You are such a good cook!

Laura, I'm surprised you are able to eat after Glenda fed you, but a little chicken stir-fry never hurt anyone :-)

Shirley, I haven't tried the chipped beef. It looks like that polar vortex is on it's way out so we will all be happy to get out of the house come the weekend!

Kittiemom, enjoy the pot pie!

Jasdip, how nice of them to invite you to their Christmas celebration. I could eat my weight in baklava. It is just too delicious!!

Hubby's last day of vacation..so he baked baby backs..they were yummy..
I nuked some left over mashed Taters and dipped sweet peas in homemade ranch for my veg.
He had a plate full of ribs..Kamren nuked two chicken burgers and I nuked Kellan some leftover sausage cream pasta..
Kam had a basketball game across town this afternoon.

I ordered Chinese from our favorite restaurant. Got egg flower soup, house fried rice and beef broccoli. It was all very good and we have a little of everything for lunch tomorrow.
