I always enjoy their fried trout almondine and that's what I had, today.

Those meals sound delicious, Patti and Glenda! We are going out for dinner tonight to celebrate my birthday and Mother's Day. The restaurant is located in our local, independently owned book store. The book store continues to be popular, fortunately, being a good alternative to chains.

I was busy today, scrubbing all the woodwork on our porch. We bought some new white wicker chairs and DH put some wall to wall green indoor outdoor carpeting down. I think it will look nice when it's all done. My finger tips are sore because I didn't have any rubber gloves and I was working with bleach.

DH has a doctor's appointment Monday and he thinks if he fasts between now and then he'll lose 10 lbs. Who am I to tell him anything different when it means I don't have to cook. LOL I'm making some marinara sauce right now and will have ravioli. Suits me fine.

It's been on the cool side here in my part of Ohio. Right now is the first time the sun even bothered to try to come out.

My evening meal was split pea soup and a ham sandwich.

Glenda, trout is so good. Used to eat a lot of it in the mountains--nice and fresh! They didn't make it "fancy", just smoked, grilled or fried.

Bigack, breakfast is always my favorite meal--at night. Don't have a waffle maker but hey, I'm great at throwing Eggo's in the toaster :0

Georgysmom, you make me laugh! Your porch sounds like it will be so pretty. I have black wicker on my screened porch. I'd like to hang some ferns out there. Looks cool with wicker. Good luck with your DH's doctor appointment--Harry has one Monday, also.

Shirley, good dinner for a gloomy day--it just rained here. Not enough to make any difference, but it looks like there's more where that came from.

Susan, do you think there's a kid that didn't want pizza for their birthday? Happy birthday to your grandson. Have fun!

More rain again, oh well my flowers & shrubs just love all this rain. Today I made manicotti for dinner, for dessert I made a batch of cho. chip cookies. Just house cleaning today.

Pork chop, fried potatoes, cottage cheese, homemade bread. Forgot to fix the corn on the cob. Guess we will have that sometime tomorrow, but DH said he is taking me out for dinner.

Mary, all the rain you are getting will keep you in business all summer when that grass starts growing! That's a good thing. We'd sure love to have a cookie, if you have any extras :-)

Hellion, I was in the freezer to get out pork chops when I spotted the smoked sausage and decided to make an easy dinner. Where are you--north of south of Ocala? I know some people don't like to give their exact town, so I understand if you don't want to.

I had slow cooker chicken n' dumplings! Yum!! It was a cool, rainy day so that was a good choice!

This evening was the Mother Daughter banquet. The menu was hamburgers in brown gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, cottage cheese, coleslaw, choice of pies. I had Hoosier sugar cream pie and iced tea to drink.
