Never had it. Sounds interesting. I made an orechetti pasta with fresh lemon, basil and tomatoes. Threw in a little garlic, onion chopped chicken, white wine and Parmesan. It was good.

My meal was pork n beans w/meatballs, and macaroni and cheese.

Paul Newman cheese pizza, lemon cake, ice water.

Cheese burgers, corn, orzo salad. Homemade apple cake since this was our Father's Day with our DD's.

Susan did you mix the pork and potato salad together. I thought I was the only one who liked a creamy salad like potato salad, cole slaw or macaroni salad mixed in with BBQ. What is even better though is the salad mixed in with baked beans. My boss also likes this.

This evening we had supper at the church with the men for the Father Son banquet. We had a big grilled pork chop, choice of different cheese casseroles, I had mac and cheese and a cheese and broccoli casserole, coleslaw, and macaroni salad. My dessert was some vanilla ice cream and a piece of the peach pie I had made. There were a lot of other foods there but that is what I had. It was all very nice.

Home made shrimp fried rice, sweet & sour chicken and egg foo yung. I'm exhausted and full. Hubby is happy (and probably asleep in his recliner already!)

We had nachos while we watched a movie together all in the comfort of our living room. I also had some fresh, cold cherries.

We had spicy cabbage. Made it with Napa Cabbage instead of regular cabbage. It was yummo And I roasted some zucchini & yellow squash that needed rescuing before it went bad,

What a nice day it was yesterday. We tended to a little bit of yard work and kitchen stuff in the morning then cleaned up to go out for brunch, drop off a bunch clothes and other items to one of the charitable stores in our city. We left that place with a gorgeous piece of hand thrown pottery.

We had some friends over last night. I fixed a few simple appetizers which we had outside on the patio before Robert started the grill. I marinated some tilapia, made a mango salsa, quinoa and orzo salad, sauteed zucchini and crookneck ribbons, angel biscuits. I had made that berry custard pie that I posted in another thread and homemade lemon ice cream, which was the best thing part of that whole meal!

After dinner, we sat and talked about the most interesting person we had ever met, the craziest or most awesome thing that had happened to each of us, and a hidden talent or skill we have.

Fun and fascinating! By the way, my 'talent' is being able to get rid of hiccups....not just for myself, but anyone else. I have a 100% success rate, lol. I've even helped perfect strangers. :-)

There were 3 of us watching the US Open and we'd planned to crank up the grill but it was a cold and windy day. Instead I got out the elec. skillet and loaded it with brats, turkey sausages, and onions & peppers. yum! Already had a 3-bean salad made, so decided to try "Crash Hot Potatoes" -- but only had russets to work with.... they were 'ok', but next time I will definitely use a waxy potato. lol! Made brownies w/ pecans and extra chocolate for dessert. :)

Ok Rhizo, now you need to tell us how you get rid of hiccups.

..Asking me for a recipe isn't usually something I can help with. But I'll try! And I know that I said orzo but I MEANT coucous! But it sure would work with orzo.

Fix 1 cup coucous and 1/2 cup red quinoi according to the directions on their labels. Be sure to rinse the quinoa first, and I prefer the red....it tastes nuttier to me. I cook both of them in chicken broth.

This salad can be made just with quinoi, but I didn't want to scare my guests. :-)

Veggies....to equal about two cups or more : chopped green onions, red bell pepper, english cuke, chick peas (rinsed and drained), halved cherry tomatoes.

Use your favorite vinaigrette . I made a lemon dressing with quarter cup fresh lemon juice, quarter cup olive oil, two cloves minced garlic, chopped fresh oregano, sugar, S & P to taste, and a splash of balsamic or other vineger.

I didn't use all of the dressing.

Add it to the couscous and quinoi while still warm, cover, and chill. When ready to serve, stir and taste to add more dressing if necessary.

I added a bit of lemon zest on top for serving and fresh mint from the garden .
