Walking down sidewalk to my condo and what do I spy, but a 12 or 13 year old boy standing facing a tree, and hand on his fly Zipper.

Get the picture?

I stopped in my tracks, looking at him!

He stood looking at my like YOU DORK!

Then he turned, took couple steps to stand behind some shrubbery, THINKING I can't see him. DUH!

And I said "you must like the bushes"

His reply, I was just walking around!

Like YEAH!

Walked on to my porch and said down on chair. Thus he meandered up to his building.

Do you think revenge might be on his brain?

I've seen him getting off the school bus in the afternoons, and he lives couple buildings UP from me, and he sometimes crosses thru to take the trash bag to the dumpster.

But to stand facing a tree?

What else could go thru this senior ole lady's brain!

LOL Well, MY first thought was that it was going to be that you caught him masturbating....so probably what he WAS gonna do is secondary stuff! LOL

I agree, he probably shouldn't be urinating outside where anyone can see him (kids, etc.) but having a son, DH and grandsons and knowing how my DS was pottytrained...I'm not surprised! LOL Maybe he just couldn't wait to make it into the apartment.

Only you can know if he seemed really aggressive toward you. He was probably really embarassed about being caught and acted bigger and tougher than he is. I'd be extra cautious for a few days though, just in case. Do you know his parents or where he lives? (He's probably afraid you're going to rat him out to them!)

Rob, they were doing their job, so be glad that they were around, be glad that perhaps they were over-reacting, it is much better than ignoring a threat. There appears to be so much anger around and so much acting out on that anger. The tragedy in Oakland, where a five police officers got shot, four of them are dead, makes me glad that I am not living in any densely populated area. I am sure that Law-Enforcement is getting paranoid also, don't blame them, wish it were different. Just "be careful out there"

Thanks so much for the help! See .. I thought feeding all of those cats out of one big feeder is very wrong too. Thanks for validating one of my concerns. We have the five dogs and there is no way I'd feed them out of one big dish, they all have their own dishes and a few their own eating areas due to when they were strays it caused food aggression issues with other dogs ( not people ). If left to their own being fed out of a large dish, the food aggression dogs would drive the others out and fights would ensue to regain the bowl .. basically everything that's happening to this cat. So, I do blame the people for not getting involved on her behalf. She's an adult cat, my DH ( who had cats as a child ) thinks she's maybe 6 - 8 years old ?? I think right now I'm going to try to get her back into shape, she's eating for me and she seems very content to hang out down here now. As we sat on the porch last night, she hung out on my DH's lap and soaked up the attention. We live in NC and it's been one of the hardest states hit by unemployment, the papers are filled with people giving away their animals. The rescues and humane socities are also filled .. we went through the whole thing with trying to find Daisy ( the Basset my DHbrought home last year ) a home or into rescue and never could, so we just kept her. I'm also going to call and talk to our vet about a dewormer for her, they'll be able to give me an idea how much it would run and if they need to see her first. They are pretty good about giving us a break when the animal is a stray, they did with Daisy and her whole heart worm treatment. Thanks again everyone, hopefully we can get her looking a little better soon :)

Pamala...that was deep :oP And in my case quite correct :) I actully feel a connection with the things I add to my home. A lovely little cordial glass can give me as much or more pleasure as an antique piece of jewelry. I love that the things were held in someone's hand a hundred years ago :) and now I get to enjoy them. I've always been this way, from a canning jar to a yellow ware bowl, I just love the joy of old stuff :oP And now I have an excuse to need more...so the hunt continues. And I will say, it's the hunt and kill aspect that makes it so much more fun than if I just walked into a store and said "I'll take that and that and that" to fill spaces verses searching for the perfect silly little thing...which normally I don't find, it finds me :o) I will say, I also have really gotten into the hunt to give away as well! I just gave habitat for humanity enough stuff from this house to fill three truck loads. I love losing the clutter and love that losing it meant it went to help someone else have a home some day or fill a home someday (our habitat store is a nice thrift store and it's a wonderful place to shop). I did the same thing in alaska when we moved into our finished house. It was great to donate a huge heap of very usable stuff that no longer apealed to me or I didn't have a need for anymore. Maybe I have house focused bulemia? Binge and purge syndrome...only instead of food I binge on silly things like antique canning jars LOL

We're using a slab of back-painted glass for our backsplash too. Look for a glass shop that does mirrors, shower doors, etc. They usually do a variety of things and will have samples of all types of glass. They can back-paint the glass literally any color. They use an automotive paint called Chroma Base. You can bring a sample of your paint, tile, countertop, your favorite sweater, what ever you want, & they'll be able to match the color. They have a color chart but are happy to do custom matching. Also you can request Star Fire glass which has a low iron content & makes the glass very clear. The colors are more accurate because you don't get the green tint of regular glass. Or if you like the greenish tint go with regular glass which is a lot less expensive. We're doing a bright white so we're going with StarFire glass. The same shop is doing our backsplashes, shower doors, stair railings, & mirrors. Good luck with your project!

One of the Association Board members came by walking her dog. I told her. She didn't know him either, but know's which building he lives in.

If my tires are flat tomorrow, I'll know who done it :o)

Sounds like you caught him peeing, and he was startled and acted tough to cover up. I don't think he'll bother you again.

Well, unless I'm reading it wrong, it doesn't sound like he said anything agressive towards you. I wouldn't worry about it. Generally, I would just have ignored it instead of commenting or trying to talk to him.

If it's a continuing problem, I'd track down his parents...but I'm not really sure what you saw or even what he did. No benefit to spreading rumors over assumptions... now those he could get mad about. Boys that age touch themselves a lot or he could have just been adjusting himself. Who knows...

My motto is "Always leave a p**ing male alone", including DH. And secondly, I am jealous that they can and I can't.

I was once in Israel's great southern desert, the Negev, traveling by car with a girlfriend, and we had to go. So we stopped the car and hiked behind a tiny hill with a tiny bush on it. An oncoming truck squealed to a stop and the driver got out, carrying a rifle. He screamed at us "You crazy women, don't you know that there are Bedouin men around here? Next time, hold it in!" Then he stood there with his rifle until we finished, adjusted ourselves, and slinked back to our car embarrassed as heck.

I know it's not really rare for men to pee on bushes. I saw an interview with the late actor Charlton Heston and he said he does it, and so does my DH. If he's out in the backyard and needs to go, he'll aim for the nearest bush or tree rather than walk inside.

As I see it, what is "peeing in the bushes out in the country where I live, could be considered "indecent exposure" in the city. The very least that should be done here is teaching the young man that there are places for that and in the middle of an apartment complex in the city is probably not one of them. Believe me, I don't have a problem with relieving oneself behind a bush or tree when and where appropriate but this was not appropriate and the young man would definitely be in serious trouble were he 18 instead 12 or 13.
