I'm SO EXCITED your kitchen remodel is finally going to happen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You've gotten so many responses and good tips, that I was only able to skim through. I love our kitchen dish drawers, but we cheated a bit. Our dish area has a hutch sitting on the counter above the dish drawers. It's mostly full of glasses, cups, serving bowls, and pitchers, but has drawers across the bottom for flatware. This means that the top drawer in the base cabinet, that might usually hold flatware, is free for dishes, like custard cups, etc. Our plates (dinner and salad/dessert sizes) and cereal bowls are in the 2nd drawer from the top (the first deep one), and we have Tupperware type containers in the bottom drawer. (In the pics in the link below we still had some serveware in the bottom drawers, but now it's plastic containers in one and lids in the other.) I wouldn't want to have everyday-use dishes in the bottom drawer. We had 46" for the dish storage, so we did 2 cabinets each at 23" wide. Thanks scrappy for your input. Yes, I've learned to be a little careful about accepting expert reviews on the web without further evaluation. Just like in the normal population, they are all different and have different needs and experience. Plus depending on the date of the review, things, especially Ikea manufacturing processes could change from year to year. I like to read the reviews and hear about other opinions but also think about my own kitchen which is what most on gardenweb here recommend and remind us to do. Glad to hear that the bifold cabinet door on the lazy susan isn't causing you any problems. That was really the main concern I had about the corner lazy susan I've chosen. The pole down the middle was the second concern. Another vote from Ankh regarding no pole in the middle. That is the only reason I'm looking at customizing with Hafele shelves (Ikea doesn't have this option). I can see myself cursing that pole considering the larger and/or odd sized items I've got in my plans for this corner. So right now, I'm still liking my plan. That's a good thing. Confirmation always helps. I don't need the drawers, EVERYTHING ELSE will be DRAWERS except upper cabs so a little extra height with the Lazy Susan cabinet without the drawer will be a good thing for odd sized stuff. We are a drawer-loving family and in this kitchen have them again. I don't know if I stack things higher than others here on GW or the drawers are deeper, but even with Cushy Cupboards and the like we find that our dishes, etc. slide. Maybe not the bottom two or three, but from the middle to the top of the stack there is definite movement and it makes me uncomfortable. We had our cabinetmaker install the pegboard system and I confess, at first I thought "grrr": it took time deciding what was to go where so I could arrange the dowels just so. But after a v. short while I loved them! Nothing jiggles or moves, and I have no worries about anything in those drawers. (We only had them done in two of the three dish drawers. The third has the Cushy Cupboard liner and we stack nothing high in there. Plus we end up tucking random stuff in that drawer, so the pegboard system would have been a waste.) So I love the pegboard system. It works for us, but as I wrote, tons of others here on GW have terrific luck with just the liner ....

I would only put them in a few drawers initially. Later, if you find you could use more drawers with that kind of divider, it seems you could retro-fit the drawers. I was planning on adding dividers to my dish drawer later, but used non-skid mats as a temporary solution and have had no problems, so I will just leave things as they are. My drawers are 30" wide and 11" deep. I had also looked at the Ikea plate dividers but decided their sizes would be too restrictive and at about $10 each times 6 stacks, they would be almost as expensive as the Hafele.
