Buyer wants us to replace boiler

Hi all,

Just wanted to get your opinions on how we should respond. Our house has been under contract since June 4, and we just got the inspection response yesterday. The inspector noted that our boiler was original (it is, 1964) and that it would probably need replacement in the near future. Also, it only heated to 120 degrees, and he says it needs to be 130 minimum. The buyers want us to replace the boiler, although the inspector said it was in "fair condition". We want to keep this house sold! What would your response be? Roll over and buy them a new boiler ($6,000), offer to pay for part of it, or something else? We have a heating company over today to check it out for ourselves. We will need to make the decision tonight. Thanks in advance for your advice!
