Help Pick New Fabrics PLEASE?????

Okay I am still deciding on the LR curtains and this decision IS NOT for the LR.

I got my RH baby bedding a few wks ago in Silver Sage and well, to be quite honest, I'm not thrilled in the least. RH Baby & Child SS is a more pastel version of the adult SS and it isn't what I bargained for, so I am back to sq. 1. GRRRRRRR!

Nothing on the market suits me that is exactly what I want and I'm not paying (can't) those ridiculous prices when we (sister, mom and family) can sew. We all sewed DS1's crib stuff and I still have the pattern.

There is a girls rm. in The Southern Accents Nov. 2007 issue in their Showcase Home. I can't find a picture of it on-line and suddenly my copy is MIA as of this morning so I can't take a picture of the picture at this time to show you. Basically it's a lot of different patterns and I S#$K at putting multiple patterns together. If I show you the line can you help me put the fabrics together?

I'm looking at the Palm Beach line (but am also fond of Multi) and would like to use Summerlin for curtains w/ Tiana run horizontally on the back. I'd like to do one of those 1/2 testers the same way for her twin sized bed.

I will need a toddler duvet cover and was thinking Summerlin on one side but which one to coordinate on the other side? The Fisher Plaid maybe? And I'd need a bumper also done up in 2 different fabrics and a crib skirt.

Can anyone envision something?

As soon as I find my coveted issue I will post a pic of the room I liked.

If you can sew . . . I've been looking at some of my regular bloggers pages this weekend and noticed some of the pictures from the quilt market. These fabrics are cotton, just not 54 inches wide (or at least quilting fabric usually isn't that wide). The colors all looked so bright and fresh in the pictures.

It's difficult to find fabrics for young kids rooms from the regular design books. They just don't make very big selections and they are all expensive anyway. I think the quilting fabric is all washable. And don't forget Amy Butler's fabrics. They're easy to find with a search.

Personally I like the Multi line better. Fresher, cleaner colors, and perhaps feels a bit more youthful and fun.

I would do the drapery in the Summerlin on one side, Salt Pond summer plaid on the other, with a narrow welting or banding of the Cheval/Leaf. Same for the tester.

I would do the duvet in the Summerlin with the Tiana on the other side. Welting in the Cheval/Leaf. Skirt in the Tiana running vertically as it does on the duvet. Bumper in the Salt pond summer plaid on the outside, tiana on the inside railroaded. Ties in the Cheval/Leaf

Looks very good to me- but make sure you order a sample of the fabric to see color and texture (don't need any surprises). I have to say what a great site and what an incredible deal!!!! I have never seen good slipcovers at those prices- you know with details as welting etc.

try using a latex paint remover. you can find it at the big stores. grab a stiff wire brush and a bucket of water. it should work enough so that you don't see it. I photoshopped a few doors/colors/address plaques and lights for you. see what you like. ('cuz that 1950's grandma front door needs to go along w/those shutters!) I like the black option w/copper. the copper will compliment the brick color and the black always looks good w/both I like this door. And, you might think about painting the trim around the windows (did you notice I covered up all your shutters?? looks good huh?) in a darker trim color. gave you this mahogany glass panel door. modern black numbers, a modern chair. I'd paint the other door one of these dark colors, bring in a more modern light. If black is too harsh, think about Urbane Bronze or Iron Ore. both look great w/orange brick. try something modern like this w/the numbers, potted plants, lighting, Here is an orange brick house with complimentary colors and light fixtures. another nice door color is a peacock blue, sage, blue/green, tone soft blue/green with copper and your orange brick always look good Yam color door, bronze light, warm wood and gray tones also work. Here's a door w/natural wood. black mailbox and light (but I like the others above better) are those posts cedar or painted? These color palettes are also perfect w/your brick. (don't forget to paint your side door too.

I like the blue examples that @houssaon shared, but look at colors you love. Also consider if those 3 posts are necessary or not, or could they be reduced to one that is thicker? Could the lower half of the wall on the left be painted the color of your house trim to brighten up the entry area? And could those gutter spouts be repositioned better for both drainage and appearance? A fun project area and will be real nice when you're done.

Also, our screens show color differently from what you see (in terms of the subtle tones, etc.) I can tell there are three blues in your swatches but not the subtle shading within each color that would differentiate them.
