If you like grilling burgers, how do you make them?

Do you combine types of ground beef? Like ground sirloin plus ground chuck? Do you add any spices (other than salt and pepper)? I admit that I used the pkg'd-in-the-meat case preformed burgers, but Woman's Day has a "grill the best burger" page in the back of the June issue, with a mix of 3/4 pound ground sirloin and 1/4 pound ground chuck that I might just try.
