RH Cappuchino, Warm Cream Color, Ideas? For Master Bath

Of all the things I wanted to change in this house, from the time we first moved in, the blue tile on the vanity (and in shower) of master bath, was the most annoying. Well, 4 years ago, we bought some nice neutral beige tile with tumbled stone and got the vanity retiled. The bedroom finally got painted Laura Ashley Gold #3 and I really like it. But this photo was taken from the bedroom opening to the bath and you can see the problem.........any color used in this small space is viewable from the gold bedroom.

I toyed with a dusky warm lavender (SW Enigma) this week. You can see my gigantic splotch!! But even though the color is pretty, it makes this area where I get ready too dark. I had Dried Tobacco in there 3 years ago and that was way too dark, even though it worked with the gold. I had the same gold in this area up till Sunday when I splotched. The gold is blah and looks yellow in the light. So now I'm thinking maybe just going to an Antique White, a Warm Cream or even something like Restoration Hardware Cappuchino. Does anyone have a suggestion here?

Rug is oriental with greens, rusts, cream, browns, floor is medium dark hardwood. Vanity is Oak. Yuck. Yes, I know....But at least I put on ORB hardware. You can see the ORB light fixture in the last shot on this Picturetrail link.

We just used BM Cameo White for the first time, and I absolutely love it. Love, love, love it. I think it would work well in there, especially off a gold room.

Sorry I don't have pics yet! Painters just finished late last night!

mcps, I think that arrangement (one sink lower than the other) will add interest to your counter and backsplash... with everything fabricated of the same material, that unusual change of level will be a good thing---especially if you use granite on the side of the higher sink where it makes a connection with the lower counter. Your granite is beautiful... I have that type in my master bath, too, and I speak with authority about "visual exhaustion" because that is---unfortunately---what I created in our bath. I'm glad yours' will be more restful :)

Okay, I've never liked anything that *looks like* bathroom or kitchen rugs. That doesn't mean I don't like a rug in the bathroom though - I just want something pretty and decorative. I also don't like the fact that many bathroom rugs, people step out of the shower/tub wet on the rugs and then they sit there damp. I use a long oriental type rug in front of the double vanity. Nothing un front of the tub or shower. What we do is use the bath mats (like a thick towel) and lay those over the side of the tub when finished. They dry out quickly and are laundered often. That said, I'm certainly not saying what is in or out of style or what someone should do, just the personal preference around our house LOL. tina

Oops, K, I never considered the cleaning aspect of bevel. I already ordered the beveled Blair Rectangle Mirror, 114-06 above to go with the style of our frosted window in the shower. They have the same grid only the grid in the shower window is white. I wanted the window grid clear but the mfg (Milguard) doesn't carry it. I haven't looked for a medicine cab yet because I want to see how much space I have. Currently, I have a medicine cab with 3 mirrored doors which I love for makeup and seeing the back of my hair. Carolyn, Thanks for the support on the Crisp Linen choice. I am actually starting to get really excited about this project. I live in Santa Rosa, Ca, scene of the Oct. wildfire causing lead time on vanity/cab to be 10-12 weeks. I waited 16 years for this, guess I can wait a little longer. ;-)

I would look for a teak plant stand, to match your teak stool (which is a great solution for your problem, one that I share!). In addition to tying the stool and the stand together, the teak stand will not be damaged if it gets wet sometimes. I agree that the plaques of the animals would do nicely on your shelf. A glob or two of Museum Gel on the bottom of each one will help hold it in place so that they do not move. I have it holding my things on a narrow shelf in the Foyer, and I cannot now move them to dust! I have to dust around them. Granted, I could pry them off the gel and then reapply it, but they are so well stuck now, I don't want to do that.

This is Eddie Bauer Alabaster and is one of the creams that I really, really like a lot. I just wonder if there may be the potential to go pink on you a bit.

How about a green? Use gel stain to get rid of yucky oak. I did it everywhere and all my oak is gone!

Cappucino? Did someone mention my name? LOL! I love my Cappucino paint. It has green undertones and would compliment your oak nicely. We also have the tumbled stone.

Lindy! Yes! That's almost like my vanity area with the double sinks and the tumbled stone. You obviously have a larger (and lighter with the window!) bath area than I do but the look is real similar. I've wondered if the Cappuchino would look 'off' from the bedroom gold, but seriously, nothing works like I want it to in here except for really dark tones. Do you have an extra chip by any chance? There's no RH here in Fresno.
