Help! Ben Moore "regal" paint is not covering my walls!
Comments (19)Here are the updates. We got our money back for 10 gallons of Regal. You need to know Regal does Not have a primer. It's Not paint& primer. This is only marketing on the label saying paint and primer- said BM expert. If you decide to use Regal you need to prime first. If you don't you'll need at least 3 coats and still may have patchy walls. Especially on textured surface. You cannot use it over oil paint. Our wasn't. Nobody told us about primer and coverage. We were painting over white base and I already mentioned before the PPG paint and primer covered without any problems one coat only. We've used in the past Behr,Valspar ,SW and PPG...we've never ever had a problem. The choice is yours....See MoreBenjamin Moore's "Pale Oak" undertones??
Comments (53)My living room was initially lavender....I freaked... and added an extra coat.... I freaked again and just tried my best to paint the greige or breige into those walls. I gave up in disbelief...MY.ROOM.IS.NOW.PINKISH.PURPLE. Fortunately, the problem vanished with four completely dry walls. The color so neutral I can redo this room with absolutely any design or fabric or carpet or special item and it adapts to mix and match with every color imaginable. Love it. The room I chose has challenging light shifts, but Pale Oak meets every shift in light with reliable neutrality. You will be able to be very creative with all added elements in a room painted this shade!...See Morequestion about ben moore sample cards
Comments (12)skyedog, that is very interesting...All of the colors that I'm looking for are in the 900's, which I believe are neutral pale colors--colors I would never have even looked at a few years ago. Maybe they fell out of favor with the public. I'm repainting a red dining room (had this color for close to 10 years and would like a change!)and want something light. After scouring the internet looking for ideas, many of the BM colors I want chips for are in the 900 range. It's senseless to me to order multiple sample pots without seeing the chip in the setting. It's possible, as ttodd said, that these chips are available under another name/number. That is something I hadn't thought of when I when I inquired about the chips. At least SW has many neutral pale colors on a separate display with large cards......See MoreAccent wall color ideas for Ben Moore Classic Gray?
Comments (4)There are many coordinates for Classic Gray. Accent walls…very few rooms get away with one and it seems you are planning on several. Why do these walls deserve another color? You have to showcase something.. a back drop for furniture or to highlight the design of the wall…. Each room and its purpose (for instance a media wall or bedroom wall behind the headboard) would work. Other than that, I would use fabric in coordinate colors. Photos would help....See Moreteacats
