....former mental institution?

Yikes!

I am looking at a small development that will go up on a large piece of property where the state hospital used to be. Lots of things about this place are appealing. They are using New Urbanist principles, the building will be green and LEED certified, location is good, etc. I have to get my head around a brand new house....something I thought I'd never do, but that's another story.

What I am wondering about here is more of an energetic thing I guess. Like, I'd never build on a former burial ground. Bad energy. I would prefer not to buy a house where icky things went down. (There is a "murder suicide" house a block away, for instance. I could never live in that house.)

Plenty of you will think this is a stupid question because you don't think in the same terms. That's okay, you don't have to answer or tell me I'm a kook. We all have different ways of looking at the world.

But, for those of you who understand where I'm coming from, what do you think?
