Wall paint color to go with olive green couches
Comments (19)Thanks again everyone for all the suggestions! It's been a few weeks since I've been to his house but his couches are fairly dark and if I had to choose if they were more "yellowy" or "brown", I'd choose brown. I've added Basket Beige, Natural Beech, and Sea Spray to my list to check out. I'm hoping to get a mix of samples ranging from the gray side to the more yellow side. I was thinking that by going with more of the taupe/gray tone, his olive/brownish couches would pop out and I'd add some natural woven roman shades to add some warmth to the room. I think the floors he's picking are really really dark....an espresso color....See More"Pale Sea Mist" paint color--any "softer" alternatives?
Comments (22)Thank you so much for these wonderful ideas!! I looked at each and every color that was recommended and discovered so many beautiful colors along the wayI I came close to picking some of the suggested colors, but then a friend gave me her Farrow and Ball fan deck on loan. I came across "Green Ground," and it felt like a perfect match! We are using Safecoat paint, and they can match this color. One down...more to go! :-) Many, many thanks again! Comments (25)So we went with the Maison Blanche/Sea Salt combo, and it looks fantastic! I will try to post pics. tomorrow. I have to say that as much as I absolutely love how these two colors turned out, they look almost nothing like the poster board samples I painted and held up all over the place! The Maison Blanche was lighter than I expected, which turned out to be a good thing and really helps to lighten the room. I had read what a chameleon color Sea Salt can be but was still surprised to find that it reads much more blue than my samples, which read green. Paint colors can be crazy! Thank you all again for the wonderful tips and suggestions. And extra special thanks to Tibbrix for introducing me to my beige winner, Maison Blanche. :) Darcy, great question about the accent wall. Initially, I wanted to paint the entire area in Sea Salt. After much consideration, hubs and I feared that it wouldn't be neutral enough for us because there is so much white trim in the whole area to make the color pop. And...he and I are not very daring. This is the first time in 20 years of marriage that we've had any paint color in our family room other than grey or beige. ;) We actually ended up doing the family room accent fireplace wall in Sea Salt as well as the area around the white kitchen cabinets (which is at the opposite end of the entire area.) I was nervous that it would break things up too much, but it really turned out beautifully. I bet your downstairs looks amazing. Maybe next time I can be braver!...See MoreThis olive green velvet sofa …
Comments (328)Jilly, I don't know how I missed the two olives, the tornado, the pillows and all 300+ posts, but this is the first I have read any of this. I'm so glad your damage was mainly a roof. I hope you've been able to get it replaced. I would not want to have to go through these spring storms with tarps. I really like the lines of your sofas. I've looked at something similar -- one with 3 cushions and another with a single cushion or bench seat and liked them both. I'm starting to think about replacing our sectional and have thought about 2 sofas it we can get the right pieces. Mine will likely be blue though. If you don't mind, how did you find the support group you mentioned? I know someone who might benefit from the same group or something similar....See Moretuesday_2008
