My house is built around a boulder. No lie! And, I lived here about thirty years before I knew it. The back third of my basement is a dirt crawl space. It is about chest level and kind of creepy back there. In the forty years I have lived here, I have never climbed up there. The dirt is uneven and particularly high in one spot. I got curious (finally) about that spot and poked it with something, which is when I discovered that it is solid rock. Later I talked to a long time resident of the community who remembers when the houses on my street were built. He remembered that one was built around a boulder. Guess whose house that is? LOL It causes no problems.

So this is my favorite abstract that formerly was in my old living room but this has a lot of pinks and pastels in it and it doesn't really go with all the brown in this shade of red I think. I also think that in my efforts to slowly get stuff to go with the red (global style pillows)- I may have gone too far with the other decor to make it work (even if it didn't clash with the brick red). The painting lives in my bedroom now usually- so it has a home at least but it for sure is more my aesthetic for a living room. Someting abour those three tapestries togegee just doesn't feel Right to me...or not finished at least. Any other ideas?

If you want to appeal to lots of buyers, take out all of the accessories and paint a beige/white to freshen it up and also brighten. Remove the brick - it will not appeal to many and people will worry about the effort. Go with a simple white shower curtain and towels and a rattan blind on the window. Change the light switches as well. In regards to the mirror, just remove and add a simple and modern mirror and a sisal rug which will allow people to envision their personality because its neutral.

I htink the red sideboard makes that room! everything else is sedate, so that bold color adds a bit of interest. However, your artwork is the wrong color for that red. I don't like those peach tones, or the greens in it. Plus, I just don't think it does justice to the console. you need this type of coloring bolder reds/orange/pinks. I don't think the harsh black/white w/gold works in your room. it's too modern looking Snce I see a pink throw, what about this red/fuschia, pink/white? I actually love this coloring w/everything else in your room. to tie into the orange chairs, get one w/a tad more orange in it. Then you need to style the top of the piece, as well as the sides of it. I'd do a tall plant in the corner. (you have enough chairs in this room! ) I wouldn't do red pillows. too much red is too much. you have the chairs and the huge sideboard. the only other red that needs to be here is in art, or a few decor items. I like your white rug/sofa, but I think the dark coffee table should be replaced w/something lighter styling the top of the sideboard. ssee how they styled this piece? plant to the left, art,, (only 6" above the top please) and some pieces arranged on top or these? I have a vintage mcm buffet and hung a vibrant Mark King Lithograph above it I'm not saying you need this color, (too many blues/greens) but you see how bold it is? Everything else in my room is neutral, like yours. Make the artwork part of the piece. for the other wall, pick something in similar colors, or subject matter. as long as they coordinate, you could do whatever you want. Maybe over the other piece you could do something like this or, try something like this over the smaller piece. (minus the chairs)
