2 fans. Ceiling fan, and box fan blowing right on me. No hot flashes, just like a cool room. If it's 60 or over, window is also open.
Plus I have to have the noise of the fans to help me sleep.

Right now no fan or air conditioner unless Jammer is home. But I sleep well.

I need to have it cool to sleep well....and very dark and very quiet.
If I expend a lot of energy during the day I sleep a lot better at night.

Every time I hear the question "Did you sleep good?" I think to myself ... no, I made a few mistakes. LOL

I sleep great, once I'm out but I don't get tired until midnight or later. I get up at 6am without any problem so I guess it's no big deal.

No problem sleeping. I have the tv or radio on, and in the summer, a fan blowing on me. I like the windows open and I don't have, or want, a/c. We are close to the Gulf, and to me, it is very comfortable at night....nice breezes.

No I don't sleep well. I never get sleepy until about three a.m. and then I toss and turn for an hour and finally sleep. I wake up between nine and ten and never can nap. It's been a curse for me to sleep since I was a child.

Wow! I thought I was the only one. It's 3:15 and I'm trying to get sleepy.

I like a cool room; the window is open year round and ceiling fan on as well. I love snuggling under a duvet.

I go to sleep soon as I hit the pillow, but I often wake up a few times during the night. Sometimes it's me that wakes myself up, and I lay awake thinking of all kinds of things.

Other times it's one of the cats that wake me up; walking on me, pushing her head under my hand so I can pet her etc.
Then Smudge likes pawing at the closet door for whatever reason and I always wake up and tell him to get lost.

I haven't slept well since my dd was born almost 15 yrs. ago. Something changed my sleep pattern. I also have back problems so I sleep on a sofa which isn't comfortable either but it's better than a bed! I fall asleep with the tv on, house cool, hate fans and love heavy blankets in the winter and summer!

Very seldom do I have a problem sleeping! I like a cool (not cold) room, and in the Summer the ceiling fan is going. In the winter,cool room with electric blankie!

If I take my bath, do my crossword puzzle, read my bible, read 30 minutes of a good book, take my nightly two baby aspirin and turn on my fan, I am asleep by 9:30 and sleep until 6 a.m. It's a ritual my body expects and if I do all these things, I sleep well.

I try to fall asleep unaided. If I'm still awake more than an hour after bedtime and feel 'wired', I'll take Ambien 5 mg. Often I do fall asleep, then wake around one or two and can't go back to sleep again unless I take the Ambien. (I don't take two in any one night, and many nights I take nothing.) If I wake after three I tough it out. An Ambien 5 mg gives me about five hours. Many Seniors have sleep problems. My MD tells me I'd be amazed at how many NON-Seniors take sleep meds all the time. (That can't be good; these are hypnotics.)

Nope, lately I haven't. I wake up several times at night, and each time it takes a while to get back to sleep. I also wake up way to early... but this morning, decided to get up and with it. LOL

Already have my pots and saucers cleaned up, from the plants that went back outside. I like them clean to stack them away for fall use.

Yes, very thankful that I usually get a good nights rest. When I was in my fifties, really had problems sleeping. Now in my seventies, I take a two hour nap every afternoon and get at least 8 hours each night.

Yes! I came back from jogging 6mi, took a quick 15min. cat nap in the sun. Then by 10pm, the minute my head hits the pillow....OUT! The thunder woke me last night @ 12:am, then 4:30am the sound of icy snow hitting the windows woke me...:0) weird weather in Colorado!

I never have trouble sleeping. I attribute that to my optimistic outlook.

I sleep really good as long as there is no noise and the room is not too hot. I cannot sleep with a tv or radio on and I sleep really poorly if I am anxious about something or if I have houseguests (or if I am staying at someone else's house).

Generally speaking I sleep like a baby (and for about 9 hours a night).

Don't sleep well. Haven't for years. I doze off and on, toss and turn and never really get to that good stage of sleep. It's really weird because I'll be having a dream but still awake enough to know I'm dreaming and aware enough to know what's going on around me, i.e., where the cat is, hear the squirrels or birds, Larry getting coffee...

I've always been a night owl, but for the past year or two, I haven't been sleeping well at all. I'm lucky if I get to sleep before 3 a.m. It's a pain, but I've learned to live with it.

I sleep on the sofa most nights because the bed makes my back hurt. I also sleep with my iPod to drown out any noise, and it has to be cold. I get hot easy.

I have a freight train (snoring DH) that rolls through the bedroom several times a night, so my sleep is always disturbed.

I need to have my room very cool, so I have two fans which also provide white noise. I've been dealing with hot flashes and night sweats for several years, so that also interupts my sleep.

I also always have 2 fans going all during the night and the window open about 4 to 6 ".I have the ceiling fan on high and a oscilating free standing fan on high also.That and a snoring problem(DH'S) is why we sleep in separate rooms.He has to have a ton of covers,no fans and no open windows,and sleeps with the door shut,i have to have the door open and the room very dark.My phone has a hat(lol) that it wears at night as well,can't even stand that light.

Oh how i wish for a good nights sleep! I HAVE tried over the counter sleeping pills....they give me about 3 hrs...it is a family curse the women in our family do not sleep! CRAZY! I so want to sleep like 8 hrs...no waking up, no getting up...just lay down read a bit and sleep.....sigh..............Stacy

My mind goes 90mph in the middle of the night.
I have no problems getting to sleep, but don't always stay there! I will wake up usually between 1 and 4 am and bam I am wide awake and thinking. I do that for 3 or 4 nights and then finally get a somewhat decent nights sleep.

Temperature of the room doesn't seem to make a difference.

Lucky me. I have no problem sleeping as long as I am not too cool and that can be remedied with more covers. I retire when I feel sleepy and I sleep until I wake naturally regardless of what the clock says.

Needs to be dark, some kind of blanket over me, small pillow under my neck and belly and the Japanese Windchimes tinkling from the ceiling fan!

And...no, I don't usually sleep well at all...up all night, sleep light and fitful most of the time...

I doubt anyone in my area slept well last night. It rained hard in the middle of the night and that woke me up. My house has metal siding. Then the thunder and lightening started. A while later, a second storm came through.

I'm so tired of not sleeping (pardon the pun). I sleep 3 hours, wake up and stay that way about 4 hours, then sleep again an hour or two. I usually get up and work crossword puzzles. Night before last I slept 9 hours straight, and I felt so good yesterday!

I'm not a sleeper, I wish I were. I wake up every hour on the hour, alway have. I don't wake to p or anything, I just wake up and never get a full nights restfull sleep. I've always been told I have a sleeping disorder. A dreamer I'm not.

Not the greatest sleeper like I used to be. Room has to be really dark, and very cold. I have two sound machines and a bottle of water, and I spray pillows and sheets with lavender water. I also sleep alone because someone I used to sleep with snores like a tank and gets up to go to the bathroom which I never do. Separate rooms and I love it. . If there is the slightest problem., I can wake with a jerk and never get back to sleep.

I am not a good sleeper...at all. It is lights out at 11 pm on work nights. I am awake several times a night. For who knows what reason, other than I hear every single sound in the house. Sometimes it is Sara, our Pit Bull, standing up and doing that whole body shake thing. Once I am awake, I am awake for the day. It has to be dark, dark and cool where I am sleeping. I am not allowed to take naps, because I wake up very grouchy. (That's not the word my family uses.) I set an alarm for 5 am, but I am generally awake before it goes off. It doesn't matter what time I go to bed...I am still awake before 5 every day.

I, too, so want to sleep 8 or 9 hours straight. That would be heaven. Any very rare time that I have slept late, I feel like the total day is a waste. Maybe that is the reason my "inside clock" doesn't allow for it.

Sleep deprivation is a serious problem. If you don't wake feeling restored -- TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR!

As I said above, I take Ambien 5 mg 'as needed'. Most nights I'm OK, but when I'm not sleeping I take a pill. I don't like taking meds, but I like being a tired grouch the next day even less. Ambien 5 mg is a teeny dose and shouldn't become a habit if taken now and then -- not every night. Sometimes you need a couple nights of sleep to 're-program' your body.

A new bed has helped me sleep better this past month. A Simmons Beautyrest. It was a surprise to me how much the support it gives reduced my back pain.

Before we got the mattress I was taking arthritis formula Tylenol every eight hours, every day, and now I only need it occasionally.

My 2nd baby didn't sleep through the night for a long time. My body got used to her waking up once a night (we brought her in our bed and everyone went back to sleep-bad habit we got into) and I could fall right back to sleep and not feel bad in the morning. Thankfully that stage is past (if I'm not jinxing myself) She turned 2 yesterday!

Now if I get woken up in the middle of the night, I sometimes have a really hard time going back to sleep. I try not to get out of bed and do anything (read or watch tv) since that will really wake me up, but I've been known to toss and turn for an hour or so. Annoying!!

I had a friend in college whose sister was a sleepwalker and sleeptalker. She would sit on the edge of your bed at 2am and have whole conversations and not remember a thing the next day! Creepy!!
