Comments (6)This is a recommended color from SW for Mindful Gray…homburg gray. I would do this on the shutters and the garage doors and leave the wood door as is. The two middle windows shouldn’t have shutters as the won’t fit appropriately, but you are not painting the siding and the darker outlines of the shutters will show if you don’t replace what was there. Personally, would like the house with out shutters and would probably paint the siding and garage doors and have no shutters at all....See MoreHelp Needed: Front Door & Shutters, ornamental plant
Comments (13)The insurance discount applies all over Florida. The amount of the insurance premium varies widely depending upon your zip code. You can contact a good insurance broker and see if the difference is worth while to you because insurance premiums in the Tallahassee area are significantly lower than they are here in S Fl. If you are going to just use the shutters as decor then don't put on those plastic stick on shutters at all. Just landscape. Consider more than one bush. A local nursery can give you your plant options. One more thing: right now your house appears to be floating. If you paint the foundation black it will bring your home to the ground. When your budget permits, expanding the steps across the front of the porch will visually make this home look much more appealing. Right now the steps make the house appear unfinished and contribute to the unbalanced look. Part of that unfinished look is the fact that there are no risers and the steps are only as wide as the door. Insp pic for steps below for your cottage. Just the steps not gable detail....See MorePlease help! Need design help- siding/shutters paint & door
Comments (2)I would take the shutters off. They are part of a style, but IMO they don't really work well on your house. My top choice of things to do would be to add a front porch where the front door is. I would also do some bright landscaping near the house to disguise the fact that the windows (oddly) don't line up. It would be good to have at least one big tree in the front lawn. They look to be a hallmark of the neighborhood. Mature trees help with house value. If it were me, I'd do a cream siding with maybe black detailing at the windows....See MoreRelated Professionals
