Amazing Race last night, any thoughts?

Well, that was interesting. Two teams were getting a little testy there. I thought, since they showed it a few times, that Jen got in Luke's space first, but that he over-reacted with the elbow throw. (Maybe he couldn't hear her coming and she startled him? Glad it wasn't his mom he nearly clocked!) Then I thought that HE got in her space at the 2nd clue box and dang near knocked her over. I think that he is more at fault than she was, but he'll never admit it. And his mom sticking up for him at the mat, that just got a bit out of hand. Those girls weren't laughing at Luke because he was signing, I think they may have been having some nervous laughter due to his over-reaction. He didn't get nearly elbowed in the face or knocked over on his butt, Jen did but she seemed to get over it. To assume that they were laughing at him was just wrong on Margie's part. I think Luke has a very thin skin and is just ready to cry foul at any slight. And his mom isn't helping with that. She didn't have to tell him what Jen called him, either. That wasn't helpful at all, first she told him and then she said "don't say anything". Make up your mind, Margie! Sheesh. I honestly would have expected a kid his age to be a little tougher than he is, less baby-ish and stronger without being so whiney. The bird pecked his hand. Big deal. Suck it up and move on. I wonder if he's a bit over-protected?

I wasn't surprised the brothers got eliminated, but they sure gave it a good try.

Training the birds to retrieve the fish looked fun, but if time is of the essence, why throw the fish so far away? I'd be dumping it over the edge of the boat. And no way could those birds swallow those fish with a string tied around their poor, wrung necks.... I'm surprised PETA isn't boycotting TAR. I felt kind of sorry for the cormorants.

First, about the birds, I saw a documentary on that a while ago. The fishermen do tie strings around the birds necks to prevent them from eating the fish. The get the birds to fish for them (they don't throw fish out to them like the players were doing).

I was wondering why some of them were throwing the fish so far away, too, but maybe there were rules we didn't know about, like they had to throw it so far and not just dump it over the side.

About the bird "pecking" Luke's hand, I think that really hurt. It was bleeding, I don't think it was just a scratch. Birds can be vicious if they want to.

I think maybe both Jen and Luke were equal in their fighting, I don't know why Jen thought she had to rush and butt in to the first box, getting there 1/2 a second before Luke wasn't going to change the game any.

I can see how Luke and Margie misinterpreted their laughing as making fun, too. Nice to see that Kisha set things straight, I hope Margie took that to heart.

I like Luke and Margie and they're my faves to win, either them of Tammy & Victor.

I was a fan of Luke and Margie but after last night's show I want them gone. Mommy dearest isn't doing that young man any favors by enabling him. I didn't care for his little hissy fits before but just thought it was editing. Now I think they've been editing to make him look good.

They came on the show, they claim, to show that deaf people are just like everyone else and continue over and over again to play the "deaf" card and to top it off bring "race" into it at the mat.

I do think the sisters were having a hard time not laughing at him but it was because of his childish behavior not because he was deaf!

At first I thought it was just editing but no matter how you look at what happened Lukie can do anything because just in case nobody noticed "he's deaf" after all. I'm surprised the sister he hit didn't just cold cock him. She showed a lot of restraint. Mommy appears to think it's OK for Lukie to hit women. Bet 'lil Lukie kicked her as a child and she let it go because he's frustrated because "he's deaf" after all. Never taught the kid boundaries.

The cheerleaders are looking better and better. They're showing more of a sense of humor. I really like watching the Chinese brother and sister developing a better working relationship. They'd get the trophy for most improved were I giving them out. I would love to see them win.

In spite of the brothers ineptness and stupid mistakes I don't think any other team enjoyed the adventure more.

Mommy needs to let Lukie out of the bubble and he needs to grow up. he's got a tough life ahead of him if something doesn't change and his deafness will be the least of his problems.

Casey's right on. I'm not 'aligned' with anyone yet, but do favor the cowboys at this moment. They really had an advantage with the cow milking, etc. lol I really didn't want anyone to go home yet. Sort of wish they'd have 3 or 4 episodes with no eliminations, just prizes for being first, and of course in the timing of who leaves first in the next episode. Hi Kids, I thought it was a good show last night. I was sad to see Dad and Son go. They did a good job of keeping it together and almost made it at the end. They were a good team, always nice to each other and respectful. I wish it had been a non-elim leg, but that was not the case. What was up with the Brothers? Why did they finish so far ahead of the other teams? Was it just beacuse they followed the cab? I would have been surprised if they had not gotten the penalties or at least one. Hiding the pump was a dirty trick, but did the other teams even know there was sapose to be a pump there? I think I missed that. Asking the cab driver to show them the way was a dumb move. Another case of a team not reading the directions? It was nice to Thailand again and Homemade is correct...the heat is unlike anything we have here. It's not just the high temps, but it's also the high humidity as well as the sun. Being closer to the equator, the sun is strong and hot. You need gills to breathe. Next week in Bangkok, away from the ocean, will be ever worse. I've been dehydrated in Bangkok. It's not fun and it happens fast. You need to drink lots and lots of water. It will be interesting to see how they handle the traffic and the smells of the city. Flamiey...you are right about the two girls and that poor man with all the drawers. They were so rude. No need to yell at the poor guy. Did you notice his wife...standing at the end of the counter...laughing at them? We're getting down to the last few teams...who will make it to the end? Gosh, lets see if I remember this. The sisters got to the mat just ahead of Victor & Tammy. But, sisters could not be checked in because they did not have their travel documents. They had to go back to the boat yard, get their stuff then, back to the finish mat. Michael & Mark decided to go back for their back packs before they did the challange. They used most of their money on the taxi back to the boat yard and then back to the location of the challange. They got to the challange, finished it and headed to the Temple where the finish mat was. They did not have enough money to pay the full taxi fare so they gave some of their own personal 'stuff' to the taxi driver as payment. They got to the mat before the sisters returned but, got the time penalty, 4 hours?, because they used there own stuff as payment. The sisters got back to the mat, were checked in as the 4th team to arrive, no other penality. Michael & Mark were then checked in as the last team to arrive but, it was an non elimination leg of the race. The catch is, on the next leg of the race they will have extra stuff to accomplish. Plus, there was time left on their penality after the girls returned, that time, about 30 minutes (?) will be added to their start time. They will start the next leg of the race last, plus what ever was left on their penality. OK, Kids...did I get that right? sooey

I'm happy with the outcome but disappointed in the lack of any real challenge in this leg. Having the leg in LA sure gave one team the advantage. I'm pretty sure the producers knew that both girls lived there for four years and one still does. The whole thing was pretty predictable. I prefer the previous seasons where the last challenge had one sitting at the edge of their seat wondering who would get it done.

I think Luke was a big baby. It clearly showed that he elbowed her in the face and pushed her into the clue box, but he claims it was the other way around. I hope after watching the show himself, he can see he was clearly in the wrong.

I was glad the brothers went and now I want Margie and Luke. Any of the others are okay with me to win. I think I like Tammy and Victor but really like all the rest. I do not like Luke at all OR his mom. He's deaf. That's a handicap but he acts like a spoiled brat. There are millions of people who are way more handicapped than he is. He almost acts like a two year old. I want them gone next.

We were in Baltimore for the weekend and only managed to catch about half of the show. We saw the end with the recap of the Luke & Jen battle and I have to say that I thought both were at fault. Each of them let compitition get the better of them, both displayed poor behavior. We were able to watch the first part of the show on tape but I can't remember much about it. I should go over to the web site for a full rundown.

I was not surprised to see the brothers go. They were at a disadvantage time wise from the last leg. Thay had a lot to make up. They went out with smiles on their faces and it seems that they enjoyed there time. Nice to see a team go out like that.

We are getting down to the end. I think that Victor & Tammy have the advantage. Luke & Margie are also in it but I would say they would be second. The Sisters would be the next strongest with the Cheerleaders being the weakest and the most prone to mistakes.

Your thoughts on the ranking of the teams?
