I don't take naps, if I did I would never sleep at night. I am lucky now if I get 4 hrs. of broken sleep.

In my lift chair unless I really feel chilly, then will crawl in bed.

No naps unless I a really realy sick. Too much to do. Do sit a read a bit or work on hobbies--lots of them.

I've always envied those who could nap. I've never been able to do it even when sick. My brain doesn't shut down until night. I still remember waaaay back in kindergarten when we were supposed to take naps and I couldn't fall asleep so the nuns would slap my hands with a ruler. Hmmmmm....maybe it's their fault!

Grandson as a toddler refused to take naps.

He reminded me of that not too long ago.

Saying he hated naps and remembers my bribing him that if he took a nap, we'd go to the lake and feed the ducks :o)

Oh, if I lie down, I'm done for a couple of hours. So I just sit at the computer and put my feet up.....can figure on about a half hour that way.

if it's a planned nap, usually because I am having a bad day, it will be in the bed and my little dog loves bed naps. If it is a sneak up on me nap it will be in my recliner. We call those snaps

I had to have a bed nap today feeling pretty blaaa.
Some days I will go lay in bed with my tablet and read or surf, might or might not nap, but rest.

No naps for me either, unless I am sick, then off to bed I go. I've never been able to sleep in a chair.

I can't sleep when it's daylight..no matter how tired I am.
Can't sleep in street clothes and have to be in a bed with cover and a pillow.

If I nap it's on the couch. I used to love taking naps, especially in the winter, when it's cold outside. Snuggle up on the couch with a soft pillow and warm snuggly fleece, aaaaaahhhhhh.

I don't do it very often anymore. Number one, I wouldn't sleep at all at night and number 2, the fleece is too hot now, haha.

I can't sleep at night or any other time without a cover, even if it's only a sheet. Most of the time that's all I use.

I don't nap. It seems like such a waste of time to me.

With Mary. Broken sleep at night now. If I took a nap, I wouldn't even get that.

I only nap if I am sick and then it is in my bed~~~day time sleeping makes me groggy the rest of the day.

I rarely nap. Sometimes I fall asleep when I am reading. Locations: bed, chaise in the sunroom, or big comfy leather chair. The chair is not a recliner, but it is big and has an ottoman, and a pillow and a throw.

I had two co-workers who would nap at work. One would go out to her car and sleep. Another would fall asleep at her desk...and snore!

In bed when I can get a nap in. I rest better at night if I get a nap in.

I love naps but they have to be in bed. My sofa isn't long enough to stretch out.

Like many others... no nap unless sick. I get at least 8 straight hours at night, and that is good enough for me!

No naps unless I am sick....then I have to be in bed, under the covers....and usually in my pj's.

I take them while watching tv in my chair while crocheting. wish I could stretch out on the couch like I used to.

I really like naps and relied on the so callled "power naps " when I was in college plus working to put myself through. Then I had a crazy schedule when I worked all morning and then had meetings in the late afternoon followed by teaching a four hour class every night.

Those short naps saved me! I still remember being able to sink into a deep sleep, dreams and all, then awakening about thirty minutes later, feeling like I had slept all night long. Crazy.

Not a waste of time but time well spent.

I don't usually nap. If I do, I can't sleep at night and I have enough trouble doing that anyway. Once in awhile on Sunday afternoon, I might nap a little. Then I get up starving to death and cranky as an old bear.

In the afternoon, in my former daughter's bedroom, with TV on. I kept her bed with covers. Oh, she's moved to an apartment nearby. I sleep wonderfully, usually with a pet or two .

As much as I get tired, I've never been able to fall asleep and enjoy a nap. I've tried, even got in bed with room darkening blinds and just lie there awake. Sleep is my nemesis, it eludes me when I need it the most. I go to bed around two to three a.m. and arise at eight. Some nights I never sleep and it doesn't seem to bother me. I'm 74, healthy with no meds but thyroid. My sis in law takes a nap every day. Yet she still goes to bed at eight and I feel she's missing so much of life so I still prefer my way.

For a short nap, I sleep on the couch in the Florida room. For longer ones, I sleep in bed. I'll wake up in 1/2 hour on the couch--and an hour in bed.

I don't nap very often, but when I am exhausted, I lie down on my bed. I never nap in a chair or on the sofa. However, my very best naps are out on the sofa (I lied) on my screened porch. I stretch out to read a book and I am out like a light. Unfortunately it now seems that someone is always mowing the grass or using a power tool on our street, so I am rudely awakened by that. However, when it all comes together, a porch nap is the very best of all.

I can't sleep if it's daylight, and the day holds too many things I have to/want to do, so no naps for me.

Couch the very rare times I want/need to. With the smaller quilt. And the big cat who lies on my hip.

I'm supposed to take daily naps by doctor's recommendation but I don't. Like Phyllis_mn, when I nap, I'm down for a good couple of hours and that messes up my sleeping habit at night.

Nevertheless, doctor's are right. My exhaustion tends to sneak up on me at times. I'd be dozing off on my wheelchair by whatever I'd be in the middle of such as by the computer, reading or knitting machine. Although, the wheelchair is comfortable for sitting, it's not a comfortable position for napping at all. Then again, if I get comfortable, I'm gone for a long long nap.

Sue used to say that I could sleep ... any time ... and any place.

Some years ago, after taking the stockbroker's course, I was working in a hotel in Alberta, night shift in the bar, and for several months drove 50 mi. to Edmonton to get involved in an investment system, during weekdays.

One Saturday morning, when I was sitting on a stool at the counter in the restaurant, reading the paper ...

... I fell asleep and fell on to the floor!

It took me a long time to live that one down!

I can doze off at the computer ,,, but seldom get the program cancelled, after getting the shout, "Hey! Anyone still there? Looks as though things have gone to sleep! Click right away, or we .....".

(But one doesn't get that shout, if working offline).

I almost never take a nap. I got in the habit of it for awhile and took one every day, I always go to bed when I nap.

I can and do nap just about anywhere. I'm not picky as long as I get a nap.

I have a recliner in my sewing room that was put there for me when I had lung cancer and I "rest" there. I also have a quilt I call my chemo quilt that friends made for me and I get all snuggy under it when I am tired and take a power nap....I do it often and it doesn't bother me to admit it at all. The chemo just about did me in and affected my nervous system so I have trouble making it through the day without at least resting and a nap is better. We keep terrible hours though and stay up till 2 0r 3 AM every night ....My husband is very protective of me when I am sleeping ...
