I don't think they can show the more racy pics on TV.

I read bits of an article yesterday about the Vanity Fair photos, and it mentioned those other pictures. Apparently they are fake.

I guess what the real issue is, her card has always been the sweet and innocent and now she is playing the look at me acting like a "ho" card...and people are not liking it...Maybe she is a Brittney Spears wannbe...she sure acts like it...but truthfully ..I wouldn't donate enough brain cells to her to care what she does...

I'm an Annie Liebowitz fan, but I don't get the point of the photo with the sheet. Definitely suggestive, not age-appropriate, and not helped by Miley's dyed hair and expression.

However, I may be in a tiny minority but I liked the picture of her with her father. A lot of people, including some national columnists, consider it to be entirely inappropriate, but I don't. I would love to have had a picture of my young self with my dad like that. We were very close and we looked alike. To me, that picture looks affectionate, not sexual.

Well I saw her shaking her stuff and trying to act all sexy on Idol Gives Back. Then she poses for these photos, which I guess Disney didn't like, and she starts backpedaling, blaming the magazine, when she had adults there to supervise the entire thing.

I don't really care but I'm sick of seeing it pop up in the headlines. Seems like she and her camp want it both ways - trying to play her as all innocent and then she's out strutting her stuff.

I watched the country music awards recently where she and her dad were hosting. It really gave me a different opinion of her. I didn't like all the jokes she was making at her dad's expense. I thought it was kind of embarrassing and degrading to him.

They are a bit "Lolita" for me. I think they are in bad taste. The sheet-to-the-chest one is over the line for a photo of a minor. The one w/her father is right on the line, and intentinally so, IMO. I would have felt awkward posing like that w/my father at 15, or even now. It's not overtly sexual. "Possessive" and is the feeling I get from it. Look at it this way: suppose you didn't know who the people were. You're shown a photo of a 15 y/o girl and 40-something man in the same pose and asked to describe the relationship. I think most people's first guess would not be "father/daughter." Mine would be "ew!"

I would not want my own DD at 15 photographed in those poses. They are too intentionally suggestive. I actually do think they are artisic photos, not at all pornographic. They are just wrong for a minor model. There is no respect for the age of the model.

I am disappointed that Liebowitz took photos of a minor that could be so misinterpretted, and in Vanity Fair for printing them, and in Mr. Cyrus for condoning it. I think the adult decision makers were completely aware of the potentional for misinterpretation and suggestiveness. But they chose to put sales and publicity over the best interests of the minor. They exploited the situation, and thereore Miley. They used "the sake of art" to influence her and get her to pose in the way they wanted. I doubt that Miley is as naive as your ordinary 15 y/o, but it was still taking advantage of her naivity. That is what really ticks me off. Miley was not protected from a potentionally contraversial situation the way a 15 y/o should be.

Miley may want to be a role model but she's not old enough to left alone in this type of situation. The photo with her father was more bothersome to me that the sheet one - my own daughter commented on the fact that it looks like she has her head in her Dad's crotch.

The news report today said her parents left before the sheet photo was taken because the shoot was nearly over and they wanted to take her younger sibling home. They left her with her grandmother and one of their assistants.

As a photographer Annie Liebowitz suggests certain poses that she wants and I think it's then the responsibility of Miley and her parents to monitor the shoot. Remember she even suggested to Queen Elizabeth that she should remove her crown so that the photo would look less formal.

Anyone who has looked at the covers of Vanity Fair would know that many of them are suggestive -what on earth were her parents thinking? Many celebrities have contracts giving them the right of final approval on published photographs. Perhaps Vanity Fair or the photographer wouldn't accept that condition. In any case I lay most of the responsibility where it belongs - the parents who are the guardians of their minor child.

It cracks me up how now that it seems to be a big deal to her fans she's embarrassed by the pictures. She knew what she was doing. I see another Britney...trying to grow up too fast. And shame on daddy for allowing it. What did they expect???

There is such thing as "bad" publicity in Hollywood.

My take is that the "Hannah Montana" fever has reached its peak and Miles is quickly outgrowing her role of teen popette.The Cyrus's are aware of this and getting ready to move on.

Billy Ray never really did have real talent and is now riding the wake of his DD's coattails. It remains to be seen where her career will go from here.

I agree wildchild....Billy Ray hasn't really done anything memorable since his Achey Breaky Heart days. I like his music, but he's not as big as he'd like to be. I also hated them hostng the music awards...they were just NOT funny at all. They both over acted the script IMO.

It's too bad. She could really have made herself a standout from the other young female singers if she had stuck to the "high road." But I guess she's just alike all the rest of them. Shame on her parents. Greedy.

I thought the photo of her was, well, icky. I don't know how else to describe it. The bare, bony, humped over back. The bruised looking lips. The slightly damp, tousled hair. Wrapped in a sheet looking like it was just ripped off a bed. She looks like she just finished doing something a 15 year old shouldn't be doing.

And I thought the photo with her father was odd as well. All entwined the way they are. It looks more like a March-October romance than a father and daughter.

I don't blame the photographer - it isn't her job to protect the subject, it is her job to get a photo that will sell. Miley Cyrus has enough selling power that the parents could have elected to approve any photos being used. In fact, I think Whoopie Goldberg said on The View that is the way it works with Annie L (she shows you the digital pics right then and they only keep the ones you approve of, and the magazine pics from those).

I never gave thought that a singer/actor type celebrity would be a role model and would never want my kids to take after most of them. They have problems just like everyone else and I'd magnify that because they are in the public eye, which in itself changes people. They are put on shaky pedestals and then expecting they will behave in a certain moral way seems to be opposite of the way their business operates.
I wouldn't mind the father/daughter photo except they should have left out the sexy top for something that covered her stomach. Maybe that's who she is but looking sexy with your dad seems creepy, especially when leaning over him the way she is. In this day, the line of decency is always being pushed. I hope the adults in her life do good things with her career, she has so much potential. Her tv show is so cute!

That pic of Miley and her dad isn't as creepy as I thought it was going to be. It looks like a picture of two people who are really into themselves, trying hard to look pretty for the camera. I don't get a father-daughter vibe from it but I don't get a sexual one either.

I haven't seen any of the pics...but I too don't think that pic is bad at all of them together I don't get a sexual thing from it at all...Stacy

I don't see anything sexual about the one of her and her dad.The one of her wrapped in the sheet is not a pose I would think appropriate for a 15/16 year old and not one I would allow my 15 almost 16 year old DGD to pose for.I looked at all the ones posted from the photo shoot and didn't see anything particularly suggestive or sexual(except for the one in the sheet)about any of them.The one on youtube/myspace(?) where she is showing her green lace bra is more suggestive than the others,and even other poses there are the same types of poses other teenage girls are posting.The dress she was wearing on the CMA's was waaaay too sexy for a girl her age.I was afraid it was going to slip any minute and show something that shouldn't be seen,and she definitely wasn't wearing a bra! I was thinking maybe she should have had that little green lace number on with that dress.LOL
As someone else mentioned,I think she is outgrowing the sweet little girl image and they are slowly preparing her fans for a more mature,(and sexier) Miley.I think she will likely go the way of all the other young,spoiled stars that have let their fame and fortune cloud their image,or that have parents/guardians that would do most anything to make a buck.I don't think any of them should be a role model for my children,or now my grandchildren! I wonder if Bindi will be next!

I think the professional photos are beautiful. The difference between a sexy sheet pose and an artful one, is whether or not the back is arched. Her back is actually hunched, and there isn't even a suggestion of a body part other than her back. I think it is a beautiful photo.

The one of her and her father? Also a lovely photo. I think those that are creeped out think that the hand on her hip is HIS, but it is hers.

As for the ones on the internet, they are not pro photos. They are personal photos that were "leaked". The one with her friend, they are NOT touching tongues. They are each biting an end of the same candy (it looks like a fruit roll up to me). Silly, and she looks younger in it. It reminds me of the silly pics we used to take with friends in photo booths when I was a preteen.

The one with the bra? Looks like an i-cam shot to me, and that one I DO disagree with. I don't know the context in which it was taken, but it was NOT meant to be seen by the general public anyhow.

I agree...this picture is ok, not as bad as I thought it would be. Not sexual and like Paula said, 2 people who are really into themselves! Billy Ray has always been into himself! I think the one in her sheet is awful...she looks like something out of a dawn of the dead movie...kind of ghostly. Not attractive at all and not age appropriate IMO. These are the only 2 I've seen so far.

I'm not all that offended by these photos either. The photos for Vanity Fair are photos taken on one day for a particular magazine. The photo with the sheet reminds me of my high school picture photo where you are sent into a room and are instucted to take your bra off and then to put a drape on. Then you pull the drape taut in the photo so it looks fitted. Miley's photo cropped to her face and the top of the shoulders is about the same thing.

The picture of her and Billy Ray reminds me of dad sitting on the couch watching tv and his dd is leaning against him. The top is a bit sexy, but not uncommon for girls her age.

Overall, I don't think these photos are particulary attractive or would really warrent a second glance. So far, Miley hasn't really done anything bad or really all that provacative. I think a lot of stuff about her is blown out of proportion.
