Now We Are Both Losing Sleep

Has anyone here gotten relief from RLS by taking vitamin supplements?

As a teenager DH had 'growing pains'. All his life he's needed to stretch his legs frequently; he always wants an aisle seat in a theater. Now, though, he has developed severe RLS (restless leg syndrome).

His doctor prescribed Klonopin .025 mg. That didn't help. Doctor upped it to .050 mg. Now he 'sleeps', but disturbed sleep, and *I* am being awakened every few seconds. His involuntary 'kicking' shakes the whole bed. He kicks every ten to forty seconds from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m., then it subsides.

Yesterday he had a blood test for possible deficiencies in iron, magnesium, B-12 and folate. We'd read that those can make RLS worse. Even if nothing shows up, I'm wondering if some supplements would help, and if so, in what doses? .
