I am off to NYC this weekend with my son who wants to surprise a friend with brie en croute. We're taking a 6 hour train to get there. Should we make it the night before, refrigerate it but not bake it? Pre bake it halfway? Ideas?
It bakes in about 20 minutes at the most....I'd wrap the cheese in puff paste and refrigerate it... What are you putting on top of the cheese, under the crust? Could be you will be better off just assembling the ingredients and assembling and baking it on site. Linda c
Not much time to assemble it in NYC. We're arriving and then dashing off shortly thereafter to see "War Horse" on Broadway. Can't wait. Will just assemble it here and pack it in an insulated bag with ice pack. Friend doesn't want anything under the crust so it just got easier. Son has asked for a trial run tonight.
