Yup, I freaked out when I saw how yellow Standish White reads in my guest room. Since it's only a guest room, I worked with it because I don't have to live in it every day.

Try hangind some drapes, putting furniture back and see if it works. If not repaint because you'll probably never be happy with it. Every paint is different IRL than it looks like on these monitors.

When color is on all the walls and the ceiling, it seems much more intense than when it is on a little chip. In my bedroom, I was disappointed that the walls I thought we were painting green were coming out grey -- that is until all the walls were painted and then VOILA: there was green.

I freaked out when we had our front hall painted in Subtle...and I saw it under artificial light for the first time. It reads MUCH more yellow at night. But now I love it.

I have Concord Buff in my kitchen, family room and one of the guest rooms. Yes, I do like that color! It is yellow to me but it's a "brownish" yellow.

One thing I will mention that may help. I just painted the family room walls last week. I would fill the paint tray on the island in the kitchen and the paint looked lovely. Walked from the kitchen into the family room and the paint in the tray started looking BRIGHT lemon yellow. It went up on the walls looking bright lemon yellow too. Now, this paint was paint I bought at the same time I got the kitchen paint so it absolutely was the same color...except it wasn't. Then I remembered that I'd put reveal bulbs in all the kitchen fixtures. I changed out the bulbs in the family room to reveal bulbs and problem solved, it's the color I love and not bright lemon yellow.

We had the same experience when trying to pick a golden tan for our main living areas. Every color we picked seemed to be either too yellow or too orange. In the end, our painter recommended BM Wilmington Tan, which reads more golden than on the chip in our home, and we like it a lot.

I agree with the other poster who stated that bringing in your furniture and accessories will give a more realistic impression of how the color will feel. Colors are more intense on the wall than on a paint chip, for sure.

If you really don't like it, then it can be changed. It's not the end of the world. It's only paint.

But, give it some time. Yellow tones are beautiful, bright and happy. In fact, yellow is my favorite color for that reason. A lot of people choose golden tones for their main living areas. They're so warm and inviting.

Yellow is the color that multiples most in intensity once on all four walls.

My Ivoire samples seemed so beige until the whole room was done. It even has its yellow days, but it's pretty subtle for that color range.

I wanted a yellow guest bedroom 5 years ago and chose SW ButterUP. It looked creamy in the small swatch but once up on all 4 walls, it glowed. I just re-painted it Farrow and Ball stony ground. I need something serene and soft after living with the intense yellow. I liked the yellow during the afternoon and evening when it mellowed, however mornings were painful. If I were to do yellow again, I would make sure it's soft like Ivoire. Many people have yellow and while I dont remember Concord ivory, I am sure you will like it more once the furniture is in. Live with it a bit.

I don't know if you would like a suggestion? I have been using BM205 for years in my very bright and sunny living room. A decorator recommended this color and on the chip it looks in the beige family. When we painted we realized it looks light yellow, but we liked it and have repainted three times with it! It has slight changes during different times of the day but I like how it looks all day and all evening.

I spent over a week painting my entry, stairs and livingroom a tan/gold color, having to borrow a neighbors ladder to reach the 25" walls. It was beautiful but too tuscan for my design ideas. But we were having Thanksgiving dinner in a few days so it stayed. DH went and got a lovely rug for the living area to finish the look. Everyone loved it. But we hated it because it was too tuscan. So a few days later I found the right tan from a pallet of colors and spent probably 1.5 days repainting. The new color is perfect but the rug no longer goes that well. But it was cheap and is better than nothing.

Colors always trick us. It is hard to put up a color from a swatch and thinks it is exactly what they expected. We do get lucky every now and again.

I had a color a little more muted than Concord Buff. I felt the same way for a few days, and until we put all of the "goodies" back in the room. Once all the furniture, pics, and rug went in it was great. However, the same color went thru a long hallway with no natural light. It was a little intense in that space, but worth having everywhere else.
My suggestion would be to put your room back together with all your "stuff" and live with for a bit. If you dont like it- you can always repaint.

As for the Ivoire- if you still have the sample can and you end up repainting what you have- give it another try. I almost used it in my greatroom, but it washed our my kitchen cabinets( maple). It will be going in my living room/dining room. I thought it read tan/beige as well, but after leaving it on the wall for a bit- it really is a creamy/buttery yellow.
