i do like some of the single serving steamer lunches...

to show you what they can do... banquet dinners landed fil in the er, with elevated bp...the salt they contain is horrible! i know it's difficult for him to get around and cook...there were, of course, other problems but they sure didn't help!

I have bought Lean Cuisin spaghetti with meat sauce and mushrooms, that I enjoy, about once a year.

The only ones I buy is Totinos Pizza. SOme people don't like them but we do. A long time ago we ate banquet chicken and tv dinners but its been years since we had them.

We have Paul Newman pizza once in a while, and DH likes the Jimmy Dean breakfast bowls.

I take them to work all the time, Lean Cuisine and Smart Ones mostly...sometimes Marie Callendars or Stoffers or Amy something or other (organic brand).

I like Stouffers and Lean Cuisine sometimes. Stouffer's changed their lasagna a few years back and it's not as good but we will occasionally eat it. I really like the new recipe they are using on the LC Lemon Chicken. Their Butternut Squash Ravioli is good too.

I keep frozen meatballs in the freezer and Lucca ravioli and their sauce.

DH likes some of the Marie Callender's casserole/pasta type stuff.

Not a fan of frozen pizza but I bought DH a Pizza Go Round and he uses it. It does make frozen pizza a bit better.

When I worked, I resorted to Stouffer's entrees a lot. After I retired, I started cooking from scratch almost exclusively. After having two knee surgeries, I started buying more frozen foods again for the convenience. Now, I am achieving what I consider a healthy balance between mostly home cooked, and some convenience foods.

I don't buy frozen dinners--it just never occurs to me. I do usually pick up a bag of frozen meatballs when I go to the little local pasta factory. They're inexpensive, and made from 'grandma's recipe'--nice to have on hand. I usually have some frozen convenience foods in the freezer--but they're my own: cheese sauce, creamed dried beef, casseroles of mac and cheese or other homemade dinners I can pull out quickly.

Pizza? We've literally got 9 pizza places (most of them excellant) within a mile of our front door--so buying frozen just doesn't make sense. Even when we move to the country house, we'll have at least 3 good pizzerias within about a mile and a half.

I buy Weight Watchers and Lean Cuisine etc and have on occasion bought frozen pizzas.

I stopped eating frozen entr�es years ago when they all started tasting the same to me. I rarely even go down the frozen food aisles. I do like to keep frozen vegetables on hand for times when I'm out of fresh vegetables.

Frozen pizza tastes like cardboard to me. I buy fresh baked pizza and freeze it in individual vacuum portions that can be crisped up in the toaster oven.

No frozen food here except icecream.

I like Lean Cuisine. I'm not really watching my weight, but they hve a good variety and pretty taste good. I'll buy them on sale, keep them in the freezer and make one when I'm too busy or tired to cook from scratch.

I do make a Lean Cuisine once in awhile. We usually order pizza deliverd so no frozen pizza anymore. I do like the frozen French Bread pizzas though. Once in awhile if we are going out I get a Banquet dinner for my Dad to make in the microwave too.

We have Gino's deep dish sausage patty pizza once in a while. The only pizza place we like is miles away. I'm not that fond of pizza anyway.

Smart Ones has a few tasty entrees, like Thai Chicken with Rice Noodles. I keep some Stouffers casserole-type entrees on hand. I use Macaroni Grill and Bertolli stir-fry bags as a base, adding leftover chicken and some frozen peas -- or some frozen shrimp. There are *some* frozen prepared foods without a lot of sodium -- but not Callendar's or Banquet, and not Stouffers either!

When I think of early "TV Dinners" I think of Banquet or Swanson -- divided-portion, foil-covered trays of tasteless potatoes, dried up, gray peas, and salty chicken, or mystery meat with 'gravy'. (Have we seen it introduced on "Mad Men" yet? Maybe tonight!)

I try to stay away from processed foods because of the salt / preservative content but do eat one once in awhile.

Some Lean Cuisine (not much) and lots of frozen items from trader Joes. I had his spinach lasagna and it was delicious.

Wow, I'm really sorry to hear Stouffer's changed their lasagne recipe, Wildchild. That was one of the few frozen meals we liked. There was another brand of frozen food that came in a bag called "Contessa". It was excellent--low sodium, too. The paella was out of this world good, but it's no longer in the stores.

If we eat anything already made, it's Stouffer's. Except I'm totally in love with Marie Callendar's pumpkin pie and Pepperidge Farm coconut cake! Also anything in the frozen bread section :-)

No frozen dinners served here! Maybe a frozen daiquiri, but no frozen entrees or side dishes.

I'll get a frozen pizza every once in awhile but no other frozen dinners. I just don't think they taste good, and they often have way too much salt in them. If I need to make something fast, I can make a sandwich or a wrap in the same amount of time a frozen dinner would take. I don't own a microwave anyway.

The only things in my freezer are frozen fish, frozen meals that I have made (chilis, soups, lasagna), ice cubes, and some frozen edamame. I usually don't buy frozen veggies either but edamame is an exception.

I do on occasion for lunch or if I am alone for dinner. I do love the Stouffer's stuffed bell peppers, I like the hungry man dinner with the pork rib patty , looks like the one in a McRib sandwich, and there are a couple of Mexican meals I will eat sometimes. I do also eat the Tennessee Pride sausage and biscuits for breakfast some times. As for frozen pizza I do sometimes get the California Kitchen little ones for lunch.

That is about it. I do use the frozen prepared meat balls when I make my meatball subs too.

I will buy frozen veggies and really like the steamer type.

I like to keep an Amy's Kitchen frozen entree in my freezer for those times I don't have time to cook.

I remember on the rare occasion when I was a kid, that my Mom would fix a TV dinner on Saturday night.... OMG ! Yummy! LOL! I loved the Salisbury Steak, with the corn - why did that corn taste so good! I tried to ration my Salisbury steak out to match the potatoes bite for bite... If I remember correctly - it has a small chocolate cake in it too!

Oh - it took SOoooo long for those things to come out of the oven.....

The turkey was pretty yummy too, except for the fact that they mixed those peas and carrots together. I also like the fried chicken dinner

My mom was a "from scratch" cook - so it was quite the treat to get the TV dinner! They really don't hold that charm anymore. I think it was the aluminum tray that made them taste so good! LOL~~~~

And I never ever got to eat one in front of the TV! I had to sit at the table to eat it.

I make my own! I cook twice a week, make bigger batches. Then using my Food Savor machine, I bag several individual dinners, and I'm set! My freezer is always full!

When I had an extra freezer I often bought frozen entrees for lunch, the light ones. LCs are my favorite. Other brands are healthier (as far as sodium) but not as tasty. On sale they are a cheap lunch with built-in portion control and I liked having something different everyday but I find that most of them have more carbs than I would like. I actually like frozen pizza but I don't buy it. I make dough in my bread machine if I'm going to make pizza. I usually keep some kind of frozen breaded chicken (patties, nuggets, etc) on hand in case we are in a hurry to get to baseball practice or somewhere else only so we don't end up at McD's just because we're pressed for time. My boys love soft pretzels so I keep those on hand. There are a few other prepared foods that you may find in my freezer - ice cream, popsicles, veggies burgers, sweet potato fries or tots, but since it's packed with meats, flours, fruits, veggies, ice packs, and foods that I've prepared myself and frozen (pierogies, homemade chicken stock, etc), I don't buy much prepared frozen food anymore. I simply don't have the freezer space for it. I think there are still plenty of frozen foods out there that are worth buying.

I love the Stouffer's mac and cheese every so often and, once in a blue moon, Marie Calendar's chicken pot pie.

DH has one sometimes, but I never do. I , like some others here, make my own frozen dinners by cooking extra and freezing. DH told me that his chemist friend (works in a manufacturing plant that produces pizza, donuts etc), told him that cheese on a frozen pizza is mostly chemicals made to taste like cheese. Because of that, I make my own pizza, which I did yesterday.

Haven't had a frozen pizza in a long long time but I did like Totino's and Freshetta. From one end of the spectrum to the other, but there's something about Totino's I did like. And for a frozen pizza Freshetta has a good crust, decent toppings and a good taste.

I do keep some Stouffer's Meatloaf around at times when I'm not making my own. And lately I've kept some "Lean Pockets" for a quick hunger tamer.

Not very often. If the frozen pizzas are on sale and I am not up to cooking, we might pick up a couple. I prefer the ones with spinach and chicken or veggie and DD and DH get the meat lover type. Costs way less than ordering in pizza, but I agree the quality is not as good. I also like to make my own pizza, but that requires me to make the dough and cook it LOL.

The last time I made the dough, and the sauce, and cooked it on the pizza stone. YUM!

Anyway. If we are doing that and DD doesn't want pizza, she will get a Hungry Man dinner with the chicken nuggets or strips.

The selection of frozen dinners in the US is much better, and mostly better quality than we can get here. Sometimes if we are on vacation we will grab several so that we can eat in and spend less money on dinners. I also grab several yogurts. Yoplait types that are flavours like key lime pie, creamsicle, and so on. Can't get those here!
