Thoughts & Prayers Needed (Again)

DH had an appt with the radiation Dr. yesterday....just a routine follow-up thing! They asked if he was having any pain..and he mentioned that his back had been hurting (and that he thought it was from sitting in the recliner so much). Dr. was "all over it" and wanted him to have a bone scan. We went this morning for that..the back to the Drs. office for the results. A place on his spine "lit up"..so they wanted a MRI, to determine if it was arthritis or if the cancer had gone to the bone! Had the MRI...and the Dr. talked with us afterwards. Not good! He's 99.9% sure it is cancer, and has scheduled him to start radiation TOMORROW morning. He'll have 10 treatments! He said the place was small and the spinal column wasn't affected. DH said it looked like we had "another mountain to climb"..and the Dr. said "No..this is just a hill..you've already climbed the mountain"!

Soooo....we could sure use some thoughts & Prayers!!

Oh gosh CB..I'm sorry

Maybe it will be just a small hill...

But I know how things like that can bring you both down, and wear you out.

I'll pray for strength, attitude and healing..

Marlene, you have been in my thoughts and prayers also, even though I haven't posted either. Even if you can legally take down the gates, I wouldn't touch them. I would ask the court to order him to take them down himself, since he bought the materials and built them, he should have to go out and take them down. The court should order them to be taken down by a specific date so that if he doesn't comply you can call the police and either force him to do it or face being arrested for failure to comply with a court order. Your lawyer should ask the judge to enter this order, so that you don't have to go out and expose yourselves to this maniac. I had a nasty neighbor years ago who I always just thought was a jerk who come over and stole our concord grapes off the vines. Even when I cought him doing it he laughed and said the former owners said that he could have them and since she had planted th vine, it was her decision. His stupidity left me speechless. We put a lock on our gate, but the vine was close enough to the fence that he could reach across and take the grapes, which he did the following year. Moments after I witnessed him stealing the grapes for the third year in a row, I went over and demanded he give them back to me. He responded that he and his wife had already eaten them. I knew he was lying, but when his wife meekly confirmed the lie, I knew by the way he looked at her and the way that she cowered that she was a battered spouse. Watch your neighbor if he has any family and see how they look at him and how they react when he speaks to them. The signs will be obvious if you're looking for them. A couple we visited once were having a disagreement and he turned around suddenly to look at her and held up his hand. She flinched in such a way that we knew that she was used to being struck by him. Watch what this man does with his hands while he's talking and you will know if he is violent. Cheryl

just heard from the daughter-in-law: Sally is coming out from under anesthetic now! no word on test results yet, but I'm ecstatic she's waking up! ('course the DIL sounded whupped...) Patti, she was in Baylor Hospital in Waxahachie, & yesterday they transported her by ambulance to Big Baylor in downtown Dallas; she wasn't able to sit up long enough to go by car. She spent last night in the hospital, had the test today, & "they say" she's expected to go home tomorrow. Thanks to all you lovely people for your thoughts & prayers & good wishes!

With one of my cats, I gave his IV at home for about a year and it worked wonders for him. He would just about come and tell me when it was time for one.He would sit there and not move , I put his cat bed up on the counter in the bathroom and he would lay down in it and I had the IV hanging from a coat hanger up high on the cabinet, it took about 10 minutes to put in the required amount and he knew exactly when it should be over and he would turn his head and gently grab my finger with his teeth LOL . Like ok now I am done! This is a gentle warning! Then he would get down and spend an hour licking himself since he had saliva again. When it got to the point that he was not bouncing back with the IV and his levels were very bad the vet said he would not be around much longer. He passed at home one night. All 3 of my kitties died from that darn kidney failure. It is so unfortunate that so many cats end up that way. But the vet said there really is not a lot of pain involved. I hope your kitty can make it through this for a while longer.

Petaloid, I really hope you're right! I REALLY want this job. It would also cut my daily commute from a total of 1 1/2 hours (100 miles) to 30 minutes (25 miles). That would be great too!

CB ~ I'm hoping that everything turns our okay with your DH. I pray that you and DH draw strength and hope from each other, I pray that his course of treatment goes smoothly, and I pray that it is only a small hill that you both have to climb.

I am so sorry to hear this, but am so grateful that it's a samll place. My Dad had bone cancer and the docs were able to treat it, so I know it can be done. I hope his treatments go smoothly and I hope his docs are the best. My thoughts are with both of you.

Sounds like you have a very alert Dr. Some would just ignore it, give you a pain pill, but yours did more. I know with my DH's cancer dr. she is a gem! and so respected by the Mayo clinic drs.

He had his 1st treatment this afternoon..so the ball is rolling!
