Once Again I Need Some Prayers

My younger sister (59 now) had breast cancer 16 years ago this month, and had a lumpectomy. She just got the results that there is some 'questionable' spots in the other breast now, and they want her to come in at 8:00 tomorrow morning for further testing.

Would you please keep her in your prayers and good thoughts tomorrow. I'd appreciate it.

Martha here's a great insprirational sight you may want to make your homepage for a while. Remember a wondrous thing is happening right now. Your body is healing. I'm thankful that you have that broken leg to creep around on. I'm thankful for the doctors that set it for you. I'm thankful for the medication to releive some of your discomfort. I pray you will be surrounded by the warmth of family and friends and you will regain your strength and peace of mind. I pray that even in your misery nothing can steal your joy. Chinacat, you are so sweet to still be thinking of this. Believe it or not, part of the problem I think is that she CANT feel it. She had a severe facial nerve pain problem earlier in her life and back then the only way to get relief was to severe the facial nerve on one side.....so she has no feeling on one side of her face. So, it is an open wound that she keeps picking at and it bleeds and looks so sore to everyone else, but she feels no pain, so continues to pick. The dr. started her on a very mild dose of zyprexa. It caused problems during the day...and it actually caused a fall and trip to the emergency room so they only give it at night. I read up and the side effects are scary and I don't like more and more drugs.......but they say she is a little more mellow and doesn't fight the bandaids etc. She seems to be picking a little less so we will see how it goes. One thing she can do is roll up a ball of yarn so she does that here at my house...but they don't give her the yarn where she lives I dont' think. They have a tendancy to sit them in front of the TV if there are no activities...which in my opinion is the worst. But, this home is way nicer than any other around so I try to be agreeable and appreciative.

Wall color is really hard to say without seeing it, but my inclination would be to put more brown into the wall color. I like light and reflective backsplashes (comes from years of dark under counter spaces with no lights, I'm sure, but why not take advantage of natural lighting even if you can supplement it?). I would not do all cream though. With the light cabinets and mostly light granite, I would want some color without too much competition with the granite. Again, without seeing it, I would be thinking of starting my search with some coppery/bronze tones (metallic or glass) either as accents or possible the whole thing (especially with glass -- if you like that look). You seem to have something simple in mind, and I think that is good. Don't do the random accents, mosaics or such that can get busy or spotty looking and compete with the granite. I had a hard time finding something simple but not too plain to go with my marble. Don't be afraid to think outside the box or search for different combinations. I wound up combining subways from one dealer with accent pieces I found at two different stores. I have two pencil liners on either side of a third (color bordering metallic). It came about after getting sample pieces of a number of different accents and sitting on the floor laying them out to compare and then starting to combine different options. If you aren't finding what you want, see if you can create it.

And my Mom just called and said my older sister (who's had open heart surgery alreadyabout 4 years ago) needs to go in and have some more work done. Something is clogging up.
