Hi ladies :)

Once again, I need your wise advice regarding the cover I should use for the ebook I plan to give away to my Happy Halloween site visitors.

Here are three different covers: 2 ebooks and one 2 sized box.

Could you help me to decide which one is the best?

I can't choose. I like them both. The first one is scarier and more Halloween night appropriate, but the second is more eye catching. Both are good. I'm absolutely no help am I?

Great minds think alike, LOL, Betty. I agree with what you said. Tho I think I'd end up picking the orange one.

Oooohhh, do NOT get me started on how much I love used book stores! *L* In addition to the bird/chicken books I mention on my 'My Page', here are a couple of others that discuss birdkeeping in a more anecdotal, very enjoyable reading format: "Adventures With Talking Birds" by Catherine Hurlbutt, some personal stories by a little old lady wild bird rehabber, with darned good insights and advice. "A Hummingbird In My House, The Story Of Squeak" by Arnette Heidcamp, another book sritten by a lady who raised orchids and one day found a baby hummingbird, whom she successfully raised. and lastly, just for fun: "A Field Guild To Little-Known And Seldom Seen Birds Of North America" by Ben, Cathryn and John Sill. There is also a sequel to this book, both are howlingly funny. John Sill is an honest-to-goodness Audubon and Stokes guides illustrator, who in these totally tongue-in-cheek books has helped create a field guide parody to a whole flock of imaginary birds with names such as Eastern Spider Spitter and Prairie Molter. The Audubon-style illustrations, coupled with hilariously funny species names (in Latin, too) and descriptions, will have you laughing so hard it hurts. :) Velvet

Chinacat, you are so sweet to still be thinking of this. Believe it or not, part of the problem I think is that she CANT feel it. She had a severe facial nerve pain problem earlier in her life and back then the only way to get relief was to severe the facial nerve on one side.....so she has no feeling on one side of her face. So, it is an open wound that she keeps picking at and it bleeds and looks so sore to everyone else, but she feels no pain, so continues to pick. The dr. started her on a very mild dose of zyprexa. It caused problems during the day...and it actually caused a fall and trip to the emergency room so they only give it at night. I read up and the side effects are scary and I don't like more and more drugs.......but they say she is a little more mellow and doesn't fight the bandaids etc. She seems to be picking a little less so we will see how it goes. One thing she can do is roll up a ball of yarn so she does that here at my house...but they don't give her the yarn where she lives I dont' think. They have a tendancy to sit them in front of the TV if there are no activities...which in my opinion is the worst. But, this home is way nicer than any other around so I try to be agreeable and appreciative.

thanks again to all of you, i guess i was a little quick to jump the gun to what i really ment to say, the thing is im not interested in wanting others words to say to her, i say what comes into my mind and heart. what i was looking for is exactly what i've been doing, and the answers from all of you have just proven to me that im doing the right thing. i guess there really isn't anything to say at sometimes, and sometimes my hugs are more than words can express. even my light kiss and i love you, on the cheek works. i was really upset because i just didn't know how to be there to help her through it, but with what you have all said to me, and what i have already been doing, is exactly the same. so i must be on the right track. shes taking this very hard, and i feel that in my own opinion just being there for her isn't enough, i wish i could do more, but like everyone had said, sometimes more isn't better, and just holding her and listening to her is better than anything else you could do. thanks again, for all your help, i have been coming here for months, but never wrote anything, and im glad i took that that step to write, thanks again. lostsoul

Wall color is really hard to say without seeing it, but my inclination would be to put more brown into the wall color. I like light and reflective backsplashes (comes from years of dark under counter spaces with no lights, I'm sure, but why not take advantage of natural lighting even if you can supplement it?). I would not do all cream though. With the light cabinets and mostly light granite, I would want some color without too much competition with the granite. Again, without seeing it, I would be thinking of starting my search with some coppery/bronze tones (metallic or glass) either as accents or possible the whole thing (especially with glass -- if you like that look). You seem to have something simple in mind, and I think that is good. Don't do the random accents, mosaics or such that can get busy or spotty looking and compete with the granite. I had a hard time finding something simple but not too plain to go with my marble. Don't be afraid to think outside the box or search for different combinations. I wound up combining subways from one dealer with accent pieces I found at two different stores. I have two pencil liners on either side of a third (color bordering metallic). It came about after getting sample pieces of a number of different accents and sitting on the floor laying them out to compare and then starting to combine different options. If you aren't finding what you want, see if you can create it.

Ah-Ha! I have the same problem... I think the black one is more Halloween but the orange one is more eye catching.

So, I put both the pictures on the site... Maybe it will be easier to chose - I am still unable to decide which one will remain on the site and which one will go to the trash can ;-)

Is it easier for you?

BTW, the subject of the offer is about to change and fit the book cover soon ;-)

Prosperity, I like the black coloured cover. It is very Halloween-ish! I also prefer the way you have the words on that one with the "For the Whole Family" in line with the rest (makes more sense to me). GREAT JOB on both though!
