I just finished watching her final show, I found it not boring at all; it was a recap of what her 25 years have been and it was like reading a book of lessons in life, I've read my fair share of spiritual and self help books and even at 59, I struggle with certain issues and wonder when I'll ever really "get" it. She gives me hope to keep at it and be what I can be, to find my meaning in life. Oprah said it all, in a humble and loving way, I personally do not doubt her sincerety. She's no different than she was 25 years ago, down to earth and wiser than she was then, and certainly richer ( good for her) but she gives credit to everyone she's learned from, it's the essence of what shaped her. She's a true succcess story in my book, one of a kind.

Thanks for the notice. I'll set my DVR for this. Since I don't watch Oprah, I would have missed the interview without your post. I find Ralph Lauren fascinating. I read a biography about him that was somewhat negative, but I don't think anyone can argue that he has made an indelible stamp or maybe even created the practice of lifestyle marketing.

I saw some of this on the news. So sad. She is a classy lady who has lived so much of her life in the public eye. I did not know she was divorced, twice divorced, or an abused wife. My heart goes out to anyone in that situation and breaks for a mom whose son committed suicide. She is a real beauty, and I think it is a real shame that she had her upper lip done. It looks so very odd when she turns her face at any angle. This week I spotted Cher on David Letterman. Now that woman has ruined her looks with too much plastic surgery. Nothing moves right. I wish someone would talk to these beautiful stars and tell them that they don't need poofy lips or huge chests. They are turning themselves into freaks. I loved how cute Melanie Griffith was, and she too has gone too far with plastic surgery.

Those comments are priceless! Reminds me of the comments left after a Paula Deen recipe for English peas, which consisted of opening a can of English peas and cooking them with a stick of butter. I laughed so hard I cried at some of the reviews. Of course I loathe Paula Deen, which made the experience that much more gratifying.
