Another plea for help with drapes!

I posted a few weeks ago about trying to find drapes to coordinate with my rug, etc. Several of you suggested an earthy, type fabric. I am loving the PB Ella paisley drape (attaching a link to pic). It is a cotton/linen blend, appears to be a tone on tone of neutrals/beiges. Customer service described it as having an overall wheat color. Cannot get a swatch as they are being discontinued, but I have found them in stores at a VERY GOOD PRICE. They will ship to me - cannot be returned.

Remember, my sofa and love seat are a neutral, slightly golden beige with a very slight black thread woven through it, giving it a nice textured look. Throw pillows are black background with red, sage, and golden leafy/floral design. I am not worried about coordinating with the sofa, but am concerned about coordinating with the rug.

Will follow up with a pic of my rug. Please tell me what you think about these two together. Here is link to drape. Will follow with rug.

Here is a link to my rug. If you zoom in on the rug, you can tell more about the "earthier" colors. It is definitely not as pastelish as it appears in the small pic on the website.

What do you think? Do you think the paisley, even thought it is very neutral, is going to look too busy?

No, I don't think it will look too busy. I would go for it.

Daisychain, yes-- the guy from my hometown (graduated a year after I did) did have a positive result. His match didnt come from town but he did get a transplant and things were going very well last I knew (it was about 3 yr ago). The registry events were sponsored/conducted by the National Donor Registry. I suspect that the family was responsible for promoting the event. I know I received numerous emails, there was a facebook page and also news stories. I didnt find much info on the event but I've provided a link to one of the articles. They did 3 events in total with great turnouts to each given the size of the town. I wish I could tell you more but since I couldnt participate, I only have second hand info. Newhomebuilder--thanks for the photobucket tip. Mahlgold, I posted upthread about BM Heather Gray, which I don't think will work for you since you seem to want a pure grey. I took a walk last night and it's amazing how many shades of gray houses there are--taupey, greenish, bluish ... I saw a couple that were truly grey with black shutters and white doors. One was a colonial and the gray was quite dark. The other was a cape that was that traditional Nantucket/Cape Cod gray. You mention a modern gray, so that may not be the look you want. You might drive around and if you see a house you like ask the homeowners what color they used. I did that a couple times and the homeowner were happy that I liked their houses enough to ask. Good Luck! I just went through this and I know it's a huge decision. I was going to paint my house creamy yellow with green shutters and now it's grey with no shutters. Go figure ...

parma42 - yup, free is definitely welcome here too! They actually had a whole slab of Jurassic Green left over from their kitchen that they would have given us for $600. If only we hadn't JUST done our kitchen counters. DOH! I don't think it would have been quite enough to do ours, anyway. andee - I don't know what color they are painting the bathroom. I'll have to ask them. The fireplace is in the same room that the granite will occupy so that's the wall color I'm looking for. I don't really like the fireplace, so I don't really want it to stand out, but I don't want it to feel like I am trying to hide it either IYKWIM. One thing I forgot to mention is that the Love Sac beanbags we have to furnish this room are covered in brick red, olive green and navy blue. I can't really afford to recover them all right now, so it would be helpful to coordinate with them. I keep looking at the greyish greens in the fan deck and I wonder if something like that might work. awm03 - that does help, thank you!

I am also considering the Peyton in Chestnut - playing it safer for future changes in accessories. I do have a sample of it and it coordinates well with the neutral beges and golds in the rug. More than I wanted to spend, but I do want to get it right.

Why is this so difficult?? I can pick out paint and furniture, but not drapes. I don't like formal - yet I don't like too cheesy/casual. I do appreciate all of your recommendations - good or bad!

Thanks Gray-Gotta decide soon before they sell out.

Has anyone actually seen these in the store? My closest PB is 150 miles away.

does not look busy at all and if the color tones are similar: are they? Almost looks like the drapes are a warmer golder color, but if the photo is off, which i suspect it is, then I say go for it. both very pretty.

Oopsie, the rug has lots of neutral sandy beige, but it also has a distinct golden beige in the design as well. You guys are making me feel better about this. Thanks!

Another question - I have a double window that is 72" wide. These panels are 50 inches wide each. I do not plan to close them, will probably shir on the rod, just want them to flank the sides of the window. If I get them, do I need 4 panels for this window, or will 2 work? I also have a single window that I will use 2 panels on.

Also, should I choose to use rings vs shir on rod, does not impact the size of drape?

If 50 inches is the finished width of each panel, then they will take up about 25 inches when shirred. You can probably get away with two panels on that window.

I don't know whether shirred vs ring clips would make a difference in how much width of drape you want.
