Meat Cleavers and Knives

I recently started buying whole chickens and splitting them myself at home. Lots cheaper that way! 20 years ago I worked at a deli and split chickens to put on the rotisserie. We had a huge, heavy and sharp cleaver that made quick work of this. I just have some super cheap knives and no cleaver, but I'm willing to spend up to 150.00 for a good one.

What are your favorite brands and why? And please feel free to talk about any kind of knife. Some day I'd like to have a really good chef's knife, too.
