Another fan here. Hubs said he can always tell when I'm watching the show on the TV in my room, from the loud laughter. In 2002 I had a bad summer with back surgert and was in the hospital for 4 months, when i got home, it was with a lot of meds, one being Zoloff (sp?) an anti-depression. One Sunday evening, I noticed I was watching AFV, just sitting there, so laughter or emotion. When I went to the Dr I asked why I was still on this pill and could I stop taking it. He said I could but had to do it gradually, whic I did. One Sunday I was watching the show, and surprised myself when I started laughing out loud, then I realized...I was back. Funny show. Dottie

I agree that some of the second season is a bit over the top but I like the twists and turns of the plot. Blfenton, I too prefer when the season used to run fall-spring, then summer reruns. I loved Madmen, but there is so much time between seasons that I can't remember what happened and then am lost when it starts up,again. I had a really difficult time understanding what was going on in its recent premier. I tried to go back and read previous episode summaries and still couldn't remember enough to follow the plot well.

From an American standpoint, it does sometimes take a bit to understand a British accent, but I've never found them difficult, it just takes a few minutes to adjust to the different intonations. That said, I live in New England, I'm a bit of an Anglophile anyway, and I've heard British accents all my life via PBS and BBC America so I may be in the minority. Now some Irish and Scots accents -- yikes. It takes me a while, but I can usually understand the speaker if I can just listen for a bit. Rapid speech would definitely be difficult. As far as "falling for" the accent, I admit guilt! I once took a college class just to be able to listen to the professor speak. He could have been reading the phone book and I would still have been entranced.

Igmd, I watched the beginning of it Sunday night, I had been really looking forward to seeing it. and I loved the dogs! ! But found the people very off-putting, and it seemed they were showing as much or more of the people than the dogs. So I switched to watch the tribute to Elvis. I recorded last nights show so I can watch the dogs and fast forward through all the people parts. Rusty
