Sorry, don't have a suggestion, but am curious about your SW Blonde appearing orange in westerly facing rooms. I have SW Blonde throughout the entire first floor of our home and it never appears orange. Green hues a bit in the west, but not orange. What are the colors of your furniture, etc. in these rooms that are giving the orange cast to the Blonde?

SW Ivoire is a beautiful color and might be what you are looking for. I've used both Blonde and Ivoire and haven't noticed anything Orange about either.

My sunporch is painted Ivorie and it's a beautiful color (east facing, though, so that might make a difference in your case). Last summer, we painted our LR with SW Echelon Ecru (which, according to the salesperson at SW store, is an older color that was revived in the last couple of years). I can't even tell you how much I love that color--it's very neutral, creamy with a hint of yellow undertones, and looks lovely in both natural and artificial lighting. Good luck; I don't envy you. I probably searched for 6 months for the right color.

Work in progress - I'm not sure what gives it the orange cast as the furniture is very subdued (ivory sheer drapes, medium cherry furniture with pale cream seat cushions).

Maybe my preference is for something that leans more beige.

I had BM Oakwood Manor in my living room for two years, but I had them take a bit of gold out, so it made it a really "safe" beige/gold/yellow. Nice color, but I'm repainting again bc it's kind of blah. I'm in the midst of painting BM Shelburne Buff. Perfect neutral gold/though more buff color. If you have a BM wheel, check it out. try SW Khaki shade or one shade lighter SW urban putty.

The khaki shade in all the rooms except the laundry room it is urban putty.

I have spent a lot of time researching sw blond and similar colors and have settled on a color called Tobacco Road that is originally a Duron color. It is a little darker with a bit of grey neutral undertones. I like it because of how neutral it is- it doesn't have that yellow golden hue like sw blond. My house is being painted right now with Tobacco Road and we are painting a dining room sw Mannered Gold.

lisanbo: Would love to see pictures of your Tobacco Road. I have given so much thought to that color.

Just to chime in again. I think I found one that might work: SW Ecru. It's one strip over from Blonde and while still having a main hue of yellow, it has more green in it than the Blonde. I got a sample and painted a foam board. On it's own it looks like a neutral yellow/beige, but against the Blonde I can really tell the difference. The Blonde definitely has more orange/gold in it.

I'm trying Ecru out at different times of day and night and in different lights. So far, I like it.

I considered Tobacco Road, but that is very similar to Whole Wheat and both have more gray in them than I was looking for. Still both are beautiful shades and very versatile.

In our last house we had SW Believable Biff in the entry/great room area, which had stairs down to the theater room. The theater room was SW Blonde. It was not a horrible transition between the two colors. They aren't rthe same color by any means, but not so drastically different that you had culture shock.

If I'd wanted the theater room sinply be less yellow, I would've carried Believable Buff down to there in a heartbeat.
