same color looks different in 2 rooms
Comments (14)and less natural light it looks like a very deep brown. The entire wall has not been painted yet but it is a pretty distinct difference. If he's using good quality BenM paint, after two coats the color will balance out - after one full coat over the B. Pear you will see more balance towards the color of the paint chip/sample. Two coats is going to equalize the color from room to room, but you are still going to have the issue of light. LT is not going to look the *same* in both of those rooms because one has less natural light. At night, eh, it will depend on what else is going on in the room and the individual lighting plans for each room. It's not unusual for the colors to look more alike at night with artificial lighting than during the day and influence of natural lighting. As long as you know to expect a reasonable balance of LT room to room and not exact *match* and identical, you'll be fine when it's finished. Changing the plan now, changing to another neutralized color, isn't going to solve anything because it too will be influenced by the current, differing wall colors and light....See MoreWill paint color look different on different surfaces?
Comments (4)easiest way to know, is to find a can and look at the label. Also be aware, that paint on a wall other than where you sampled it, can look a bit different. Different sheens, will look a bit different....See Moreall white interior: same white, different finish vs slightly different
Comments (5)I'd stick with your original plan to use a different finish on the trim and walls, but keep all the walls the same white. After you've moved in with your furniture and been there awhile, you may decide to paint one or two rooms a slightly different color for some interest. Unless you have a room like a dining area that you want to highlight now with a slighly different color. It depends on whether or not you have all your furniture or not....See MorePaint color from two different cans looks different -- update
Comments (9)* In this case, the 2 "Color numbers" are meaningless. There are a bunch of BM Colors in the "Off-Whites Collection" (OC-32, etc....) that are also in the Main-panel on the 6' side of the rack. * Different Color #'s.....same formula. * When I'm using our BM Software, I just pick the # that matches the chip they bring to me! * Regarding the color difference, could be one or more of the Colorants is sliding out of Calibration, or.....a small portion didn't "drop". * Depending on the Tinting-equipment, "Bellows-driven" machines are a teeny bit more prone to fractional shots just not "dropping". * My new (last year!) $20,000 COROB Tinter has 2 "Transmissions", Pumps, Valves, recirculation & return lines, etc. Extremely accurate, but once in a blue moon.....a teensy shot of Colorant is sometimes a "Miss". * So.......on real light colors/small cans, I watch to make sure everything "drops"!
