My experience has been you aren't going to find a paint that will look the same color on all walls at all times of the day and night. This of course is due to lighting and what the paint is reflecting off of. I guess the key is to make sure you do all four walls and then look at them day and night. Remember, once you get furnishings, etc. into the room, the paint will not be the primary focus. My new office is painted Nantucket Gray which is a very pretty color by day. At night, I'm not so crazy about it. I didn't have adequate lighting in the new house at the time the house was painted so I had to chose my colors using the similar lighting at my present house. I did pretty good on all my choices except for that one. Since I don't have the option to repaint I'm devising other ways to ensure it's not the focus and to use bright white lighting that will keep it as bright as possible. I chose BM's Rich Cream which looks yellow, very pale, yet when the afternoon sun hits the laundry room, where it is also, it's a very, very bright yellow. That's OK though because bright yellow in the laundry room is a good thing. I don't get direct sunlight into the main living area where the RC is also, so I never have to worry about that room turning bright yellow. As long as the color I chose looks good in all lighting, not necessarily the same in all lighting mind you, then I can live with it. Does that make sense?

Joann Fabrics is selling it now for reg. 54.99, SALE 27.49. I also got some P Kaufmann 'Alta' in Tobacco micro suede there for $3.99, and it sells online for $26.75 at another online site. It's MS-1067 at the Barn, and they have it in three colors. What's I'm suggesting is that you go there and page through the fabric, as for $3.99 a yard, you don't want to be lazy! If a color looks different because of the chemical makeup of the industrial coating, that is because it is a different color. A color describes a specific range of absorption, reflection, emission of light waves and when those are different it is a different color. This a common misunderstanding but it is a misunderstanding. Think of color as a physical address. 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Washington, DC. is the physical address of the White House. If I say meet me at the White House tomorrow at noon and give you directions from my house, and you follow those directions perfectly but from your house... well you are not at the White House. You are at some other house, and that house doesn't suddenly become the White House because you followed the appropriate directions to get there. @Deena Ruiz - When you gave your painter a color, you gave him an address to arrive at, not directions on how to get there. He didn't end up there... At this point, there are so many industrial coatings that walk the line, it is hard to distinguish between products. Technically speaking, conversion varnish, which is what a lot of cabinet coatings are still using, is just lacquer with so much solid content that you have to add a hardener to get it to cure. So it is impossible to make any comment on the products he is using without knowing exactly what product he is using.

* In this case, the 2 "Color numbers" are meaningless. There are a bunch of BM Colors in the "Off-Whites Collection" (OC-32, etc....) that are also in the Main-panel on the 6' side of the rack. * Different Color #'s.....same formula. * When I'm using our BM Software, I just pick the # that matches the chip they bring to me! * Regarding the color difference, could be one or more of the Colorants is sliding out of Calibration, or.....a small portion didn't "drop". * Depending on the Tinting-equipment, "Bellows-driven" machines are a teeny bit more prone to fractional shots just not "dropping". * My new (last year!) $20,000 COROB Tinter has 2 "Transmissions", Pumps, Valves, recirculation & return lines, etc. Extremely accurate, but once in a blue moon.....a teensy shot of Colorant is sometimes a "Miss". * So.......on real light colors/small cans, I watch to make sure everything "drops"!
