You're talking about the motor stem, right? Is the bowl seated correctly? Have you tried making sure it's properly locked in place? When you say it's "stuck", is that in a clean, empty bowl? In food? Just from the cupboard? If you think it was seated right and now just won't come off, try some man power. Lacking that, put on some heavy gloves or oven mitts to protect your hands if it lets go too quickly, use something grippy to grasp the knife housing, brace the unit really well, and pull! If that doesn't work, or if you think it's glued on with food, try really hot water. Not only will it loosen whatever food/glue is there, it'll expand the housing and the air between it and the spindle, and should make it easier to pull off. Again, protect your hands and as much as possible pull away from your body. Good luck.

Sue, please be careful with that slicer blade - I got a nasty cut from mine! You might consider soaking the whole top in HOT, soapy water - perhaps it will loosen. If that doesn't work, try taking it to a hardware store and asking them to help - they are very good with helping folks in a pickle - ACE hardware is my favorite place to get things fixed, and they don't charge for services or advice!

Chemocurl I think my son hs one of those nd he loves it I'll check next time I talk to him. I have to say my microwave which is on one cabinet -across the aisle is my toaster - which I just got I took down the toaster oven, it too up too much room, my can opener and a mini food processer.I have a hand pump thing that sucks out all the air out of special bgs which I like a lot. I only do a little real cooking in the wintertime. Sometimes I use the electric skillet for making lamb stew.

That's about what I thought. We've liked our KitchenAid a lot. The only issue I've had with it, is that the water gets into the handle that is hollow on the bowl and makes a mess. I would have simply replaced it, if they still offered the white on white. The new one has a white base, with black buttons and a black handle. I bought a Cuisinart at Christmas time last year and when I put it together, I just thought the design was not simple or would be easy to clean, so I took it back. I was hoping to wait out the black handle phase with KA, but, can't wait now. I'll keep looking and see if I can find an older model of KA.
