Can this turkey be saved????

After roasting turkey successfully for over 30 years I've had my first possible disaster! I've been brining my turkeys for the last few years, and did the same this year. Then, I decided this year to try the high heat method where you start with the oven at 500, and then drop it down to 350 for the remainder of cooking time.

All the sites I read said to expect some smoking from oven initially, so when mine did I wasn't alarmed. Unfortunately, my old oven choose today to malfunction, because when I opened the door and checked the thermometer, it was registering 600! I immediately pulled the bird out because the outer skin of the breast and legs had were burned black! I've covered it tightly with foil and put in back in at the lower temperature, planning to let it cook through anyway.

The plan was to cook the turkey today, let it cool, cut it up, refrigerate it and then just reheat the platter tomorrow. My question is, do you think I can save this turkey by peeling off the charred outer skin and using the meat underneath? It had only been in the oven 20 minutes.

Or do I need to go find another turkey, forget about brining, and start all over again? We have a crowd of 10, dinner will be at noon tomorrow. I'll be doing a ham tomorrow, too.
