I kinda agree with Matt & Fun-C... At least in our store, computer-matching is the only option "time-wise". Our scanners usually get real close, & we do "human" corrections after that! * But to have someone fuss over a color for maybe an hour...isn't an option 90% of the time. * Many people think they'll be on their way in 5 minutes. AIN'T gonna happen with some matches!! * If we're busy, we have to ask them if it's OK to pick up their color later, so we can have time to "tweak" if necessary. * I'm very comfortable using the BM & SW C2-equivalents in our software library on the C2 tinter. VERY-CLOSE, if not dead-on matches every time I've had to make a SW or BM color into C2. * I've heard of some stores starting to CHARGE for paint-matching!!! Mainly because it can be tedious getting a color right. Also, it lessens the time store personnel can spend with other sales worth a lot more money than a $12 Quart! >>> I KNOW that was a controversial point there!!! I don't know Sherwin Williams paint colors so I cannot say how any one would match to F&B. F&B All White is their brightest, whitest white without undertones if I recall correctly. What I do know is that most paint lines have an equivalent -- the brightest white. I would look at those from SW and from BM and others. A lot of the way any white will look depends on location. The same white paint will look much different in Texas, where the light is very strong and New England where it may look more gray due to the light. Noon has the brightest daylight. I would suggest looking at paint samples then. Also in the a.m. and late afternoon. See which looks best to you at all times of the day.

Thanks! That's what I thought! Yeah it's a very tough decision and you only get one chance to do it right..... I started with so many peel-and-stick paint samples from SW and F&B and narrowed down to 7 F&Bs and ordered the real paint samples from F&B. And narrowed down from 7 to 5 and then 5 to 3, Pigeon, Blue Gray and Mizzle (in the same boat haha). Still long way to go..... but hopefully i can make the right decision....
