Wow. I remember doing a double take when I first saw pics of her kitchen... it is drop-dead gorgeous. Her laundry room is nicer than any room in my house!!

Wow. Such a fantastic, warm, inviting home. I absolutely love the first shot coming up the driveway....I was already sold!

For the walls I am pretty sure it is SW Moderate White (I am not some creepy stalker for knowing that, I just remembered she used the lightest color on the same strip as the color I used for my kitchen :D).

Her cabinets were made in england and I don't remember color details, sorry!

Thanks for posting. Allison is such a nice and generous person w/ all of her info about her home. I have kitchen details somewhere that she posted for me once. Paint (specifically island) is FB paint w/ a glaze. Will look later but I'm headed out.

I agree about Demi's house. In fact, I have the room I want picked out for the next time I am in her neck of the woods :D. I have heard she is quite the hostess.

I always check email first thing each morning, and someone emailed me through GW that had seen a link to AtticMag Part 1 on Jack Arnold's blog. Imagine my surprise!

Amy, to be known as one with famous glass balls - that thread was funny. Jane did not feature the floats, but I did a post in Shopping about them a month or so ago (link below).

Oooh they are so heavy I never guessed they would really break! I actually have a couple of smaller ones in my little water garden (outside), and they have actually had frozen water around them this winter - no cracking. I have another larger one outside to one side of our arbor. Love all the colorful ones, but I only collect green. I never find them around here, or even in the antique shops we frequent on the coast, have bought all mine via the internet.

What a gorgeous location! How did you convince your dh to finally allow exterior shots?

Each time I see Allison's home i'm amazed by it's beauty as well as the coziness and charm, inspite of it's spaciousness. It has the look of luxury w/o the fancy, opulent features seen in magazines today. The 'essence' of France has been captured in many of the fine details. If I didn't know the home was in AL, I would think it was in the south of France! Truly a work of art, Allison! ;o)

I had never seen a whole tour - just parts as they were finished and posted. Wow oh wow! Allison do you also have a summerhouse with a wonderful bed at the end of a pier? I can't remember if it is you or not.
Anyway truly lovely and inspiring!

Cooperbailey, Demifloyd is the one with a bed in her screened porch (at end of pier). I keep saying I'm going to put a hanging bed in the screen porch, but have yet to do it. DH thinks I'm crazy for wanting to sleep outside, but I know the dogs and cats would like it too. Dubya will spend hours napping in a chair, and another hour or two watching the squirrels. lol

Natal, I sweet talked him. ;) We still didn't show the front clearly and it cannot be seen from the road. We also live in a secured community, which is not uncommon.

Tina, I have several of the Coke bottle colored floats too. They are much thicker. You would not believe how far the pieces scattered!

Jane did an incredible job selecting photos. Tomorrow, she has put together a collection of close-ups of accessories around the house so be sure to come see those too!

It is very nice to see your home all at once in a cohesive tour. The back porch is great, no wonder Dubya enjoys it. ;) Now that I'm done drooling over the antique chairs (one of my own obsessions, lol) what I really want to know & what I've been wondering about for a long time is:

how on earth did you get the very cool horse head hung up there and get it to stay there? ;o

lol MS, it either had a hole or a ring to hang it on - I don't recall which. I probably should drag in a ladder and dust. I'll let you know!

That's good to know about the green floats. I really couldn't imagine one breaking. I may have to look into some other colors.

Will check out tomorrow's tour tomorrow for sure! I don't visit the site often and didn't know they had the house tours section. I looked at that Virginia (I think I've got that right) farmhouse tour also.

Glad you kept hubby happy. I thought it was just a front shot that bothered him and knew you'd shown other exterior pics. Yes, Jane did a great job!

Mamabird, I thought I had posted this already; I answered questions in the comment section of Part I in case non-GW members had the same questions. fwiw, as in most all paints, what works for my home may not work/be the color you're after in your home. (Picking paints are hard sometimes!)

Funny you should bring up Lacanche. DH has mentioned them several times over the past few weeks. The only reason I did not buy one (or an Aga) is I was worried about repairs (if needed). I personally don't know anyone in my area who has one, but we do have a dealer. I guess the wrench would be one not fitting space - I read a thread here last week about them not coming in 48" ??? I'll have to research if he ever gets serious.

I appreciate all the lovely comments, but especially character, warmth and cozy. It feels that way to me and it's nice others can feel that too. I also tend to see the things I would change or am not 100% happy with, and reading your posts makes me forget about those - until next week. ;)
