I think a really MCM style for the liquor cabinet would be awesome with Marilyn. I really agree that rosette for the fan needs to disappear as much as possible You need anew coffee table placed where it can actually function and the red chair needs to be pulled into the LR seating space so facing the sofa. I would do a bigger rug that also lests that red chair sit on it.Some nice bigger lamps and maybe even bigger endtable and you will need one mre for the red chair. I aslo would remove the mirror and replace with a great piece of art. These color for a rug could be cool they would allow you to play a bit with other colors

The fan IMO should fade into the ceiling

The gold on the ceiling medallion is just incomprehensible

The mirror of the sofa is not doing the room any favors.

Every room requires table or floor lamps for proper illumination

The seating should be pulled away from the walls so there is room to add a tree or a floor lamp behind the sectional

You shouldn't have to jump on a bus to reach the coffee table when you're seated on the sofa. or chair

Rad as an accent color would have been my selection seeing that you're in a tropical climate, but if you like it then you do it.

We might suggest keeping the red and just finding a larger rug to go with what you have. You could do a black bar cart as well, it seems like it would work well with all the pieces in the room.
