Need new FL for 2nd floor laundry room
Comments (3)I'd wait for either the Duet Sport 3.6 with the heater due out in May or wait for the existing Duet to get the upgraded suspension(I have no idea when those will hit). The Sport with the heater, extra capacity and the six point second floor suspension would be my choice because I'm not sure any of those FL's with a decent suspension would be price comparable or very large in capacity. Unless you know exactly how strong your second floor is going to be many of the FL's have vibration problems and there are many posts about that on this forum. The sport was built to address those concerns. If you can't wait, don't want a heater, and can live with the 3.3 capacity the first Duet Sport is being released this month...in fact one poster said they saw them in Lowes...but confirm they have the six point suspension cause that one seems to be up in the air ( different folks haven't agreed on that one yet). It;s been posted the price on the 3.3 is between $800-$900. I looked at Bosch, Siemens, HE's and every single one talks about floor support, solid surface ( in fact Bosch will sell you floor brackets to bolt their machine down). All these are supposed to be good machines but on a second floor I'd be worried about vibration...so I'd take a look at the Sport...good price, decent size, second floor suspension...only negative is it's new....See MoreIs there a good idea for hiding flat screen tv in living room??
Comments (8)I loved Horchow's tv wall cabs, but they wouldn't work on my adobe walls. We went with a tv lift console and I've been very pleased with it. I love not having to look at a big black screen most of the day, no matter how thin it is! The only downside to these consoles, other than the fact that they could be a lot cheaper, is that the top hinged door that lifts up makes it impossible to put anything on the top of them, decor-wise. Our lamp needed to be on the tower next to the console (which still needs to be replaced eventually) and all decor had to be on the wall above it. Here's mine open: And closed: Since we first looked at them, I've seen some other very nice wall mounted cabinets on the market. The prices are getting more reasonable and they're so darn practical, too! Lynn...See MoreKitchen Reveal! My 2nd time! From white to...
Comments (27)lynn2006 - The Pot and Pan pull out is by Rev-A-Shelf, and not sold by Mid Continent. It fits in a 24" wide cabinet. I think they also have a skinnier one. I love it. And the LED UC lights are 2700. I wish I would have done a few more, but they are the perfect color. The overhead recessed lights came with the house, just regular lighting. Ideally, I would have changed them, but it wasn't in the budget. They are not really in the best layout, but it was too much trouble to do anything about it. myfoursons -- If you look closely, you'll notice that our KA Mixer in the cabinet is what my kids call "Notre Dame Blue". That was the only color my husband would allow. lcskaisgir -- yes, I'm so happy to get a deeper cabinet above the refrigerator and pull that away from the corner. Makes such a difference!...See MoreMy realtor says REMOVE 2nd door from Master Bathroom (but we LIKE it)
Comments (30)First off, my condolences and I agree if you are not planning on selling now, give yourself the time to grieve and push this to the back burner. And if you are staying in the home, definitely keep what works for you. I'm a realtor, in Pittsburgh suburbs so your market may differ. I would talk to your contractor and obtain a bid for closing off the door. I have no idea what tiling or finishes this may impact, but this sounds like a small job. If and when you decide to sell, have the agent share the estimate with potential buyers if they push back on this. Sometimes buyers are scared off because they think something will cost a lot of money and really have no idea. I recently used this strategy for a listing that lacked a first floor powder room. Estimate was about $7000 and sharing this helped....See Morelatifolia
