Wasn't going to be doing much for this thanksgiving, then things started to change.
Late in the day before TG, got a couple of panic phone calls from friends. "Couldn't find a fresh turkey. What am I supposed to do with a completely frozen turkey?" I had no choice. I asked them to bring the turkeys to me and I sous vided the turkeys from frozen, one at a time. I set the alarm clock to go off in the middle of the night to put in the second turkey in the cooker.
One friend's family only like white meat, so he gave me the wings and drumsticks. I got my turkey after all.
Day of Thanksgiving, a friend came over to borrow some tools to repair damages caused by Sandy the storm. Realizing that they couldn't cook because their kitchen was damaged, I invited the whole family for a Thanksgiving dinner, totally unplanned.
We went shopping crazy before the stores closed. Other than the turkey wings, nothing was traditional.
I hope you all had a more organized TG meal.
