Anyone use Home Depot or Lowes?
Comments (11)Hmm, long ago we walked in and talked to Home Depot asking to get some idea of prices and the cabinet person encouraged us to sit down and do a plan right then based on our measurements. If we wanted to proceed with ordering cabinets, we could either do so off our measurements or pay for them to come and measure to confirm. We walked out with a plan and prices. This was about 13 years ago though so practices may have changed. Or they may vary by store? edited to add: we did not use Home Depot. We were young and broke and ended up diy painting the existing cabinets (and diying new floor, new countertop, new lighting) because that's all we could afford at the time....See MoreHas anyone sued Home Depot over defective cabinetry?
Comments (16)Omega is Masterbrands top of the line. Not sold at a box store. Nothing sold at a box store is top of the line. It’s all low to mid grade. Decora may be the best quality they sell, but it is FAR from anything high end in the real world. The real world is outside the box store. And they do not have a clue about high end kitchens. Once upon a time, I did 96K worth of Omega cabinets in a kitchen. That would be 135K in today’s money. Not even that fancy or large either. And that’s not the cheapest kitchen cabinets that were ever put in a house. Far from it. If you’ve already filed a lawsuit, no wonder they aren’t dealing with you and you’ve been told to go to arbitration. MB isn’t going to deal with you either. Lawyering up shuts off any working with anyone. Anywhere....See MoreHas anyone used Home Depot's Greecian white mini hex tile?
Comments (5)Colour variation from a Big Box store marble tile is to be expected. Sorry but they take returns = different batches. Colours run 'true' from one area of the mine. If you have two different marble blocks (5 tonnes of marble being blown off the side of a mountain at a time) from two different areas/levels of the mine, you can and will have different colours. Most of the marble from HD is from China. That can mean multiple mines many miles apart. Your purchase did NOT have a skilled professional picking the right amount of tile from the same batch. This is 'Tony' pulling boxes out of a warehouse for minimum wage. Because HD takes returns...go ahead and take them back. Feel free to work with a stone/tile company or go to a kitchen/bath company to help you pick out the right AMOUNT of product from their stock. What is the marble being used for? Do you know most marbles need to be sealed? Up to 3 times at time of install?...See MoreHas anyone used SW Silverpoint as an interior paint?
Comments (2)Silverpoint belongs to the middle of the Green-Yellow Hue Family. it has the capacity to appear, just grey, flash with some inherent greenness (Green-Yellow) or even shift noticeably more blueish, depending upon light quality. its details are available in this fab COLOROGRAPHY from The Land of Color...See More- 13 years ago
