Hobby lobby...way ahead of schedule!!
Comments (27)HA!! Get ready Kathleen..you will love what you find at the CTS!! and You too will be saying 'Don't You Just Love A Bargain?'..lol.. I Went back Sunday, and I purchased more round placemats... They have several color selections..I got the green. Also, like I needed it, I got a lovely twig woven Hat, with an apple and berry spray on it for only $4.99. I put it on the inside of my front door. DH said why would you buy it, when you made all those vine wreaths?.. I told him it was too nice to pass up!! LOL sno.. I agree w/kathleen, what a nice project to be working on with that quilt, and such wonderful 'fabric memories'. I did that once with scraps of fabric from dresses I made my DD when she was little...I passed it on to her when she got married. As far as starting several projects going at once..I'm right there with you. I too started this past winter, putting photo albums together of old family photos. My parents had given them to me to hold many years ago, then they never took them back. I took each one out..and some I framed and hung up on the wall going up the stairs. When my MIL saw what I did, she gave me some old photos to add, from my DH's side. The left overs, I'm slowly putting into albums. I had an elderly aunt,(my DF's oldest sister) who came to my house many yrs ago, when I lived in NY, and when she saw the photos on the wall, she me names and told me stories about many I didn't know. I wrote the names on the back so I would remember them, and when I'm gone..my DD or whoever else, would know. I hate when I see photos just thrown away and know one knows who they were....See MoreHobby Lobby? Not what I expected at ALL!
Comments (27)Yes the entire family is from Oklahoma and the original store was up on the North side in OKC. I have not been back to OKC since I moved away in '97 so no idea if it is still there or how much it has changed. For a long time they were only in Oklahoma. I really missed the stores when I moved to Texas then they started putting them in but like I said they were very different and had lots of furniture and dishes and stuff. I have bought a couple of little tables just the right small size to set beside the sofa on each side for a drink or cup of coffee, very well made. And I got a table that goes behind the sofa, beautiful, metal work with a fleur de lis in the center, it had one of the bracer boards on the back side that had come undone, I asked the manager for a discount he gave me the table for $35!! amazing price. We took it home and my husband put wood glue and a clamp on it and now it is fine. Everyone comments on how beautiful it is. I collect fleur de lis items and Hobby Lobby has been a treasure trove for me!! My husband has put me on a Fleur de lis limit LOL But I had a lot of wall space that needed decorating. You can get really beautiful door knobs and drawer pulls and even face plates for the light switches. We replaced all the cheap plastic ones here with beautiful cast metal ones that have have a vine design and tiny fleur de lis. We got all of them heavily discounted at HL. It is one of the stores that my husband loves to go to, we never leave empty handed....See Morewhere do you buy your wall art/decor?
Comments (35)I like allposters.com, though when you order something online you don't really know what it's going to look like until you see it in person. I got this at allposters.com a couple of years ago. I was a little disappointed in the frame but I can live with it. They would not allow me to crop the title and the artist name from this particular print, although they will allow it for others... depends upon copyright limitations, I guess. I've never looked for art on Craig's List, but I wonder if that might also be a possibility?...See MoreCustom framing quote...yowza!!! would love to hear your thoughts
Comments (28)Because the print means so much to you, it's worth it to get exactly the frame you want without repainting or making do, especially if you don't like the profile of the moulding. A decent frame can only enhance it and you'll always love it. My brother used to own two frameshops and always framed items for me at cost with no labor charges. Because he bought quality supplies, was, himself, a perfectionist, and I could get very nice frames with the discount, they still cost as much as retail. Since then, I've had numerous prints and original paintings framed at Hobby Lobby and found they were more reasonable than Michael's and have been totally pleased. It's kinda like the cost of eyeglass frames, without the glass-it's hard to explain the huge difference in cost for basically, plastic frames....See Moredaisyadair
