Artwork looks great when grouped in a collection; create a fall display by tearing out leaf pictures from a book, drawing your own or even collecting a batch from the backyard and preserving them through wax-paper pressing.
Have old piano books or high school sheet music collecting dust under your bed? Put them back into use by hanging individual sheets in a collage. Try to mix newer sheets with aged, browned sheets for an interesting mix.
Get creative with scissors and colorful paper by cutting out a series of shapes. These tiny paper hearts have even been folded for an interesting texture and pattern.
Once you have several that you like, frame the results for a chic, homemade piece of artwork. And don't worry about it looking perfect: the less perfect, the more authentic.

Create several related pieces for an eclectic gallery wall. Track down inexpensive frames at IKEA or Michael’s.
Have you been eying a beautiful paper at the crafts store but aren’t sure what to do with it? Cut out several small rectangles and attach them in a formation on your wall. Voila. Instant artwork.
You know when you read a book and you stumble across a paragraph or sentence that takes your breath away? Keep the pages of those paragraphs in full view at all times by displaying them in a creative fashion, such as hanging them on a branch you might find in your backyard.
Bring your closet door from boring to character-filled by creating a collage with decorative paper.
Your closet isn’t the only place that can benefit from this look; try a bare wall that could use a dose of personality.
If you’re looking to create a unique lampshade without emptying your pockets, pick up an inexpensive neutral shade at Target or Hobby Lobby, then cover it in your favorite paper. A patterned paper will not only spice up your shade but also create interesting shadows with the lamplight.
For a cheaper and more fun way to work with wallpaper, cut out individual shapes instead of covering the entire wall with sheets. The application is easy, and the outcome is whimsical and distinctive.
Help your child learn his ABCs by hanging alphabet flashcards across the wall. Buy them or whip out some paper and make your own; your kids can help with the drawings!
